I was expecting to hit the ground, but I didn't. I open my eyes and it was Milo."Hey." He looks down at me while running.
"Hi." I stare at him in awe.
"See? I told you I would protect you. Didn't I?" He chuckles under his breath.
"Where are we going?" He looks behind me before giving an answer.
"Just a secret place, I've always wanted to have some company."
"You can put me down now, I think we're far enough." Milo looks at me than behind him.
"You're right, here." He carefully sets me down on the ground. As we began to walk my eyes followed Milo, he was panting and I couldn't describe how I felt while I was looking at him.
"Here it is! Look! Up there!" He points to the top of the tree.
"It's a treehouse! I've always wanted to have one."
"Then? What're you waiting for? I'll help you up." Milo boosts me as the first few boards had been broken off.
Once I've gotten up safely, he pulls himself up. I look through the window. They were right. Nothing but green for miles but the sight was still beautiful.
"So, why did you want to show me your treehouse? And why would you leave it?" I ask still looking through the window.
"Well, I don't go here often anymore but when I do I think of all the great memories I had. I thought I'd be a good place to help you know more about me. This could be our secret hideout in case something bad would happen." Milo explains.
"What do you mean?"
"If the men in suits find out we've been talking to you, they're going to either kill us or take you away to get your memory erased. I mean, they can do worse. I've heard it happen before."
"From where?"
"From the others." He looked away while answering, so I decided not to push on.
"Are there any other reasons why you wanted to bring me here?"
"There are two more." There was a pause before he spoke.
"The first one is that I needed Dylan to calm down and the second reason.." He looked at me straight in the eyes. His brown and green eyes focused on me.
"I made good memories here, and I want to make some more with you." His face turned a new shade of red, and I died on the spot.
"You give me butterfly's Milo. How am I supposed to react if you talk like that to me?"
"I'm serious, Sapphire."
"Yeah, I know." I felt my body start to heat up.
"I'll make great memories with you for sure." I smiled at him. Minutes pass until Milo jumped up.
"What's wrong?" He puts his finger to my lips to hush me.
I watch as his ears start to twitch at every sound. I sit back down and observe him. He frantically walks around the room looking out the windows; switching sides every so often. I kept my attention on his ears. They twitched and fell and rose. It was quite entertaining. He didn't have any facial expression to help me understand what was going on but his ears did. Finally, as Milo stared out the left window his eyes widen and his jaw dropped. He crouched towards me and started to whisper.
"The men in suits are here."
