~Lexis P.O.V.~

"What did you need, Dad?" DeShawn said as he pulled up to the house. I had told him to leave Rio with Lolo so we could talk. I'm trying to put myself in DeShawn's shoes, just trying to picture my Dad calling me over to the house and telling me Mom was killed.

"I've got news to tell you but I want us sitting down for this." I said pulling out a chair for him. We were on the porch and he took a seat.

"What's going on?"

"You know how we had no idea where your Mom was?" He nodded. "We found her but she was murdered."

"Dad. That's not even a funny joke-"

"DeShawn. I know I would joke about your Mom all the time but I would never joke about her being murdered. Nitty found her behind the trap and now her body is at a morgue." He just looked at me blankly.

"Dad...why?"

"I'm not sure why. I'm sorry, DeShawn." I reached over and pulled him in for a hug.

"What's going to happen to Rio? His Dad isn't in the picture and now is Mom isn't-"

"We're going to wait and see. For now, Rio can stay with us. I don't know what the court will do but I already know I'm not getting custody because I'm married to Nelle and you know the nonsense between Leah and Nelle." I was very surprised at how well he was taking all this.

"Do you think I could go for custody over him?" He asked pulling out of the hug. "I know Lolo would be more than happy to help me. She loves Rio like a son as it is."

"What about college?"

"I'll just leave."

"You're of age to make your own life decisions, if that's what you want to do, then gon' ahead with it. I personally would like to see you graduate from college but it's your life."

"I'm going to talk to Lolo about this. Do you know who killed her?" I shook my head. "Are you going to find out?"

"I plan to. I'm leaving for Houston so when I get back, we'll find out. How are you feeling about all this?"

"I wasn't close with Mom but I'm sad at the fact Rio is just abandoned." He said, standing up. "I'll see you later, Dad."

"Bye DeShawn." I watched him walk off the porch and over to his car. There's been too many murders in just this year alone.

I heard LJ crying inside, so I got up and walked up to his room. I found Ivanna at the top of the stairs playing with the pup. Her laughter echoing throughout the top story put a smile on my face.

"LJ, what's the matter?" I asked as I picked him up. I assumed he was hungry since he hadn't eaten in a little while. "Ivanna are you hungry?" I asked, walking by her.

"Nope." She said popping the "P". I haven't heard that in a long time.

"You learn that from Mommy?" She nodded. Of course.

After I fed LJ, I went back outside so Ivanna could run around and play on the grass. I saw Nelle's car come rolling into the driveway.

"Mommy!" Ivanna yelled. "Hi Mommy!" She continued to yell and I just laughed.

"Hi Sweetie." Nelle said, reaching down to pick her up. "What are you all up to?" She walked onto the porch, giving me a kiss then taking a seat.

"Just chilling. How was lunch with Jay?" I looked down to see LJ already asleep in my arms. He's such a sleepy baby, it's cute.
