The wind was chilly and Francine wasn't feeling well,, maybe we should call it case fever. she even skipped breakfast. When she reached the courthouse,, she felt a bit better.

She was awestruck when she saw the barrister,he was looking even better than his shot in the newspaper. A very black afro hair, pretty eyes, high chin, well sculptured nose and even well built. He looked like the god of beauty himself. He also carried himself gracefully. He was dressed in a black pin-striped suit. His teeth was whiter than any she'd ever seen.

When he smiled at her flirtingly and introduced himself"hi I'm Williams,"she was in heaven.

What she didn't know was that Williams was also feeling the same way. When she entered the courtroom,he was dazed. She was like an angel in a human form. She'd long black curly hair. She didn't even use expensive extensions like many other ladies, her hair was combed to the back. Her skin was ebony and shining. Her eyes were like tiny slits that can undo any man without even being seductive. Everything about her screamed elegance. She was the perfect epitome of what you'd call black beauty.

He didnt even know how he found the voice to introduce himself.

"I'm Francine,"she found herself saying.

"Pleased to meet you."

"Same here."and they found themselves shaking hands.

Her hands were softer than butter and he felt energy release into his loins. He would have to be very careful,he said in his head.

Maybe, she was brought to seduce him. After all, she didn't look particularly bright but OMG, she was beautiful.

He was still lost in his thoughts when he heard "all rise," from the court clerk. He wasn't surprised to see the judge Ajenifuja walking in with an arrogant smirk before sitting. They've hated each other for years.

"Good day barristers, how do you do?" He asked, the arrogant smirk he was known for still fully plastered on his face.

"Very well, your honour." They both answered simultaneously,, one voice bold, the other nervous which made the judge raise an eyebrow.

"Proceed."he said startlingly quick.

Francine went first nervously," my client,Ikechukwu is asking the court award him custody of his children, whom he loves and wishes to raise based on the fact that their mother don't care for them adequately," she began.

Outraged, Williams raised an immediate objection. "Let's assume, she doesn't care for...................."

"I'll allow a certain amount of latitude here counsel." Judge Ajenifuja interjected annoyed.

Francine continued saying,"the mother doesn't really care the children,, she sometimes abuse them. The neighbors can all testify on her maltreatment of her children and the father treating them with love and care. The dad does travels for business trip, yes but his mom has agreed to look after them when he travels."

It was all Williams could do to not interrupt again, even though he was squirming on the chair. He didn't even expect her to be even a tinnybitty smart since she was a newbie and her appearance this morning didn't help matters. He didn't really research for the case since he'd thought it was an easy one,a stay at home mom and a working tough hours dad. He hadn't heard about her maltreatment of the children. Ouch! He thought.
