We drove to the BAU, and stopped so Caroline could pack her bag. She slid out of the SUV without a word, and jogged into the building.
She emerged into the sunlight five minutes later with a small bag slung over her shoulder.
She climbed back into the car, and buckled up without giving me anymore than a daring glance. We rode in silence to my apartment. Morgan parked and helped me out. Caroline had our bags in both hands and waited for Derek and I to lead the way.
After a few staircases of agony, I was able to unlock my door and let the crew in. Caroline dropped her bag in awe next to the door. She immediately looked at me with suck excitement as she headed to the bookshelves. She sat on the floor with my vest and gun in her lap. She was reading one of my older non fiction books. Her hair fell over her face as she focused and absorbed every word.
Derek gently nudged me. "Looks like we got another one, eh?"
I watched Caroline read, and she was flipping pages every second. She was a fast reader.. and she was reading one of my books from college. One of the literature books.I crouched next to her and started reading. Her eyes scanned the page quickly, but she mouthed every word.
Caroline was a genius. Like me..
Sorry for the late update! I couldn't think of what I needed to do next.
I started a new book! Go check it out.
Thanks!
