• Chapter Eighteen •

Due to One Direction's high profile, Harry and I had to get plane tickets for 2:25am in first class. This way we avoided masses of fans piling up to meet him. It was safer this way. Harry has explained that he loved meeting the fans but he worry's when they crowd around and pile on top of each other. My alarmed blared monotonously at a constant rate until I was annoyed enough to slip an arm out of the hotel bed and press snooze.

Ripping my eyes open, I squinted and saw that Harry had managed to sleep though the alarm, unaffected. Rolling my eyes, I hauled myself out of bed and went to brush my teeth. When I had returned, I crept up to where Harry was sleeping and began placing small kisses on his forehead. He muttered incomprehensible words and his eyes began to flutter open. "Good morning," he said groggily. His morning voice was the loveliest sound I had ever heard. It was hot, raspy and raw.

He looked so peaceful sleeping, his face soft and gentle, like nothing had ever hurt him. But I knew he had been hurt. On the road, there is hardly any time for falling in love. You're constantly torn between deciding who your real friends are and who is just there to experience the perks.  I think Harry has been hurt that way, so it made me scared to continue our relationship any further because the last thing I wanted to do was break Harry Styles' heart.

"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes," Harry said after he yawned loudly. I could feel myself deeply blushing. I attempted to hide my face but Harry caught my flailing arms and left my face exposed. "Never hide your face away. It's too beautiful to keep to yourself, it would almost be selfish." He said. There was something in his voice that scared me, it was so honest, as though he truly believed it.

"Right," he yawned again, "let's get back to the mother country, shall we?" He said after stretching his arms.  Yes, we had a plane to catch.

We hadn't needed to rush to the airport, and once we got there it was almost empty so we had a chance to pick up some breakfast. I got a soft pretzel which Harry ended up eating mostly and he bought us some coffees. He had learned how I liked mine which was lovely. Then we took our places on the plane, stress free.

I hadn't meant to. Harry and I were talking and it was all completely fine but then I fell asleep. I promised him I wouldn't, he said he wanted to talk but my energy escaped me. When I awoke, I thought he would have been disappointed, or worse, furious. But recently he's been able to control his temper around me, or at least attempt to.

There was only three hours left of the journey home and when I awoke, I noticed Harry had ordered us food. "I know it's not the best," he grimanced when he noticed me poking at the food with my fork, "but you should eat. It has been a long flight."

 ~*~

I had visited Harry's house once before. It was when he first found out that I was the hired girlfriend. I had only ever been in the living room and in the back yard, so knowing I had to stay the night in his home was exciting although somewhat frightening. I hauled my back in through the wooden door and smiled at how much his house felt like home. After hearing a sigh from behind, I shot Harry a backwards glance and say the expresion of happiness screened across his face. It was truly evident how much Harry had missed his home, his family, his town.

Considering Mrs Twist wasn't allowed to pick us up at the airport like she intended, this was the first time Harry had seen his mother in almost four months. Harry pushed past me at the sight of his mother and enveloped her in the most fulfilling hug. It was lovely to just stand there and see the love Harry expressed towards his mother.

"Noel," Anne smiled after the reunited pair detangled themselves from each other. Then I felt the warmth and love expressed by Anne when she hugged me. It was nice to see a friendly and welcoming face when each day for the past four months I have been surrounded by masses of people I have never met.
