"On your left

"On your left." You heard someone say behind you, disturbing your peaceful morning jog. Despite the headphones in your ears, you could still hear his voice. You glanced behind you briefly and nearly jump out of your skin when a blond-haired, blue-eyed attractive man breezes past you. You made eye contact with the other, also attractive, man who was jogging behind you. He just rolled his eyes, making you smile before going back to minding your own business.

A couple minutes later, you heard it again. "On your left." The same guy from before flies past you again. You can feel your jaw drop as you watch him run away quickly.

"Uh huh. On my left. Got it." You glanced behind you and you could tell the other man you'd seen earlier was becoming increasingly agitated.

You pulled out your earbuds and slowed down to jog next to the other guy. "Is this guy for real?" You looked ahead of you again only to notice that he'd completely disappeared. "Normal humans can't run that fast."

"I don't think he qualifies as a normal human." He rolled his eyes. "I'm Sam."

"(Y/N)." You held out a hand for him to shake.

"You live around here?" Sam asked with a slight smirk.

"I have an apartment about five minutes away."

"So you must know all the best places to hang out on a Friday night." He raised an eyebrow and his smirk grew.

You laughed lightly. "No," you started and shook your head. "I don't get out much." It was true. Partying, clubbing, drinking and such were not really your thing.

"Well, then why don't I--," He paused when footsteps grew louder behind you. "Don't say it. Don't you say it."

"On your left." You heard again.

"Come on!" Sam let out a loud groan in frustration. You held back a laugh as you watched him create distance between the two of you and himself. Sam put on a burst of speed, trying to catch up to the other guy, but he gave up when he realized he'd never be able to do it.

"Oh forget it." He threw his hands up in the air in exasperation. "I need a break." Sam sat down and leaned against a tree, trying to catch his breath. Once you'd closed the distance he'd created between you by trying to keep up with the other guy, you paused next to him.

"It was nice meeting you." You said.

"Yeah, maybe I'll see you here again?" He said it like a question. You nodded and turned, but bumped into a hard chest.

"Oh, sorry." You looked up at the person's face. It was the guy who'd kept passing you. He was even more attractive up close. Instinctively, your hands went to smooth down your messy hair and wipe the sweat from your forehead.

"My bad," He said. "I'm Steve Rogers." He held out a hand for you to shake. That explained how he was able to run so much at that speed, he was Captain America.

"Yeah, kinda put that together." You heard Sam say behind you, but you chose to ignore his comment.

"(Y/N)." Your hand gripped his. Steve smiled at you and you were mesmerized by his perfect teeth and blue eyes.  After a few seconds, you cleared your throat and pulled your hand out of his, trying not to make it obvious that you were staring.

"Do you come here often?" Steve was curious. He had run here a lot, but never noticed you before.

"Only a couple times." You shrugged. "I used to go to the gym, but I decided to start running instead." You'd recently stopped going due to the fact that the creepy male employees at the front desk would hit on you every time you went. It freaked you out enough to make you cancel your membership.

"Well, then hopefully I'll see you here again." Steve smiled once more. "Maybe we could get coffee sometime. Or dinner, if you don't like coffee, because I know not everyone does and I want to give you options." He scratched the back of his neck. You laughed at his rambling.

"How about coffee tomorrow and dinner Friday?" You bit your lip and watched him run a hand through his hair.

"Sounds like a plan." You couldn't help but smile. He looked down and shook his head as his own grin grew.

"What?" You asked.

"Nothing. You just have a really cute smile," Steve said and you could feel a blush begin to spread across your cheeks, but your smile remained plastered on. "Um, here, write down your number. I'll call you." He pulls out a small notebook and pen for you to use. Once you finished, his eyes met yours and you couldn't help but stare at each other until you were interrupted by a beeping sound coming from Steve's pocket, making both of you look away. "I have to go, but it was great meeting you."

He walked backwards to the street where a black car had just pulled up. A window rolled down and you could see a redhead woman sitting in the driver's seat. She waved at you and smirked at Steve. You heard Sam trying to flirt with the woman, but she paid him little attention.

"You too," you replied and watched him get in the car. You gave him a small wave when he looked at you one last time through the open window before the car sped away.

"Great," Sam spoke up from where he was now stood behind you watching. "He gets all the girls too."
