The clouds were looking down on the empty clan territories, it was now nearly night when a silhouet of a fast running long haired brown tabby tom appeard on slanted surface where the grass was getting longer and wilder. Their cream under belly was plastered with mud and their light green eyes were glooming in the darkness. The tom was looking curiously around while they were running low against the ground, it looked like they were lost. The tom now stood still, he looked around and now noticed that the territory they were in was familiar. He began to run again when rain started pouring down. After a while he stopped because he had nearly run all day and night. Time now went slower when nobody was around anymore. He went to sit down and thought, 'What is my use here? Everyone is gone and I am not needed.' The tom felt that all the running had taken a lot of energy out of his body. He now felt his eyes closing down on him. He tried to fight to stay awake but then his world went dark.
He felt paws hitting him in the fur when he had woken up. The tom opened his eyes and saw the brightness of the sun shining down on him, which marked a new day. Then he heard the meow of a familiar sounding she-cat.
"Otterstream, is that you?" The Tom now could see the light brown with white spickled fur of the she-cat that he now recognized.
"Do-Doepaw?" he asked.
The she-cat smiled and meowed, "Yes, its me! what are you doing out here?".
The tom now stood slowly up and meowed with a embarasing voice, "Euhm nothing."
Doepaw saw the face of the tom and meowed, "You haven't been around camp, nobody has...".
Otterstream also saw the sad face of the young she-cat and meowed, "After Thistlestrike was gone, I couldn't live near the place I saw them the most. So I left, and after a while I-I lost sight for where I was and I ended here last night." Doepaw started to pad away looking backwards waiting for Otterstream to follow them, Otterstream understood and followed the she-cat.
While they were padding further around the territory Doepaw started to talk, "After you left, it didn't go well. Lot's of us died, one of them was Lizardclaw and when that happened Mousetail just left, leaving some of us alone."
Otterstream couldn't believe what all had happened when he had abonded Windclan. Doepaw went further, "Now the camp is like a ghost camp, where I'm the only inhabitant... Sometimes Redpaw comes to visit, but they prefer to live alone now..."
Now the Windclan apprentice and warrior were walking up the hill and then overlooked the ghost camp. It was now sunhigh, feeling the sun in their fur ,but it still felt cold when they saw the camp. Otterstream now heard something, he looked around and saw a rabbit running through the territory. It had already been a while since Otterstream had eaten something proper. As the rabbit disappeared down to the hill into camp Otterstream let Doepaw know tho follow them by lashing their tail to them.
He meowed quitely, "You see the rabbit over there in camp?" while he let his tail move to the Windclan camp. Doepaw nodded and started sneaking towards camp where the rabbit was looking around. The two cats now started to enter the camp and now circled the rabbit who still didn't know their death was close. And then the rabbit noticed, it started to run but then Otterstream jumped in front of it which made it turn again right into Doepaw's claws.
Doepaw meowed happily, " We did it! we got the fat rabbit!" Doepaw now came to Otterstream with the big, fat rabbit, " Let's share this one!"
Otterstream now smiled at the she-cat; he felt a bit more happy than he had felt in quite some time. He went to sit down and meowed while taking a bite, "So you've only seen Redpaw around?"
Doepaw looked up when the tom asked the question and answered, "Yes, sadly only Redpaw," she paused before speaking again with a happier tone, "Now that I've found you though maybe we can find more!" Otterstream nodded back to the young apprentice.
The two cats went on eating the rabbit and telling each other what happened with themselves, until the sun started to go down and the sky got darker. The tom now stood up and meowed, "Where can I sleep?"
Doepaw meowed, "Follow me!" as they started to pad to the medicine cat den. " I picked this nest because it's pretty warm in here, for the cold nights at least..." After her explanation, the two went to lay down in nests beside each other and they both let themselves drift off into the deep night.
