Chapter Eleven

"APRIL,MORE PICKLES...MORE ICE CREAM,TOO!"I yelled from my place on the sofa.

I had a new infatuation with forcing April to bring me weird concoctions that I craved.Earlier she had brought me fried chicken and I quickly covered it in chocolate sauce.The baby had stopped torturing me with morning sickness and every other sickness in the book,but my hormones were still freaking out.I would wake up in the middle of the night,for no reason at all,and cry about not having Ronnie with me.I missed him and maybe in someway the baby missed him too.Being six months pregnant was no joke, and I was thankful that Ronnie would be out of jail in one month.I needed him with me and this baby was going to need him.I needed more support,I hadn't seen my brother,Monte,Robert,or Lexus in months and I knew that it had something to do with what happened after Ronnie's sentencing.The only person that I had seen was Craig,I know what you're thinking..and no it's not like that.He was helping me,not in a sexual way,but in an emotional way.He was so sweet,sometimes I felt like Ronnie couldn't make me feel the way I felt when I was with Craig.

"I'm coming!"April said,handing me the bowl of my new happiness.

"Thank you,Aunt April."I said smiling.

She glared at me.

"WHAT?!"

" You're going to see him today,aren't you?"

"Yeah,I am,April.Does it matter?"

She sat down next to me."I don't like where this is going."She said.

That was no surprise,she thought that Craig was sketchy,but I didn't think so,I just knew that she was wrong.

"April,no one could ever replace Ronnie."I said staring down at my engagement ring on my finger."Craig and I are just friends."

She scoffed."That's like saying that you and I are just friends."

"What are you implying?"I said,eyebrow raised.

"Girl,you know that you're my lesbian lover when creepy guys hit on me at the club!"

I bursted into laughter,it was true.That was always our little lie when a creep came up.

"True,but you're going to have to find a new person to lie with now.I won't be able to go to the club for a long while.Maybe this is your chance to bond with Lexus."

She gave me an evil look."I'd rather rip my toenails out and then walk on glass."

"Come on,April,at least give her a chance."

"Nah,I'm still waiting for her to do something wrong."

I sighed and then shrugged it off.I had to get ready for my day out with Craig.He told me that I was going to be meeting someone special.I prayed that it wasn't his mother,then that meant that he was taking this whole thing way too seriously.

I slipped on my plaid maternity shirt,black leggings,and converse.And when I was ready to go,the doorbell rang.

"Wow,you look beautiful."Craig said when I opened the door.

"It's just what I normally wear..."I said softly.

"But you look beautiful in anything."He said as we walked to the car.

I smiled."So who is this mystery person?"

"Oh,she's in the car."

My eyes widened,but I tried to remain calm.

"Daddy!"I small voice said when he opened the door.

"Shay,this is my daughter,Leila."

"Aww,you're so adorable!How old are you,sweetie?"

She held up three little fingers.

I smiled at her cuteness.

"Craig,she's so precious."

"Yeah,she is.It's my weekend with her so I decided to let her meet you."

I smiled that Craig trusted me enough to meet his daughter,but I couldn't help but worry what her mother would think about having her with some woman that she never met.We soon pulled up to the park and watched Leila play.

"Go ahead,I know you're dying to ask me."

"Not sure I want to anymore."

He laughed."I'll answer it for then.Her mom and I aren't still together,but I love my daughter so I'm not going to just abandon her."

I nodded."Respectable.I can only imagine what you must think of me..."I trailed off,staring at my swollen stomach.

"Here's what I think of you...you're a beautiful,strong,independent woman,that has been hurt and you deserve so much better than what you were given."Craig said looking directly into my eyes.

"What are you saying,Craig?"

He sighed."I'm falling for you Shay."

My eyes went wide."You're lying..you can't.."

"But I am..."

"But what about Ronnie?"I said flashing my engagement ring.

"He's a tool."I saw hate flash in Craig's eyes when I mentioned Ronnie's name.

"Can I at least think about this for a while?

"Of course you can."He said smiling at me.

The rest of the day was silent and consisted of me playing with Leila.When I got home all I wanted to do was jump right into bed and forget all about Craig and Ronnie.I obviously would choose Ronnie,but Craig didn't need to know that at that exact moment.He should have felt stupid for even asking,knowing that I would choose Ronnie,but I couldn't help but think about what it would be like to be with Craig.I quickly dismissed those wicked thoughts as soon as I walked inside.

"April,I'm home!Glad about it too because I had a-"

"Hey,babe,miss me!"

My jaw dropped when I saw the one and only..Ronnie Radke.
