Chapter Twelve

"Ronnie!"I yelled,leaping into his arms and engaging in a passionate kiss."I missed you so much!What are you doing here?"

He smiled."They let me out early for good behavior."I smiled.

I quickly remembered what Craig had asked me and what happened after his court sentencing.

"I'm sure that the guys will be happy to see me."

I sighed.I decided not to be the giver of bad news,but I knew that he would find out sooner or later.

"Did you miss me?"I asked,trying to change the subject.

"Why would you even ask me that?Of course,I did!I missed baby here

too.Did you find out what we're having?"I shook my head.

Even though I was six months and could have found out months before,I didn't because I wanted to keep one of life's greatest surprises a surprise.I also didn't want Ronnie to worry,but the baby hadn't been moving like it was supposed to.The doctor said that it was fine and that it would move when it wanted to.I didn't like the idea of not being able to feel it moving like all of the other moms,but the doctor said that everything was okay,that the baby was healthy,and that it would move when it was ready.

"You're going to stop now right,Ronnie?"

He knew exactly what I was talking about..the drugs.All he did was nod,like that was giving me a straight forward answer,so I had a bit of trouble believing him.It was silent for a bit then Ronnie changed the subject.

"Maybe I should give Max a call..."

"NO!"I said,but I reacted too fast,so Ronnie knew that something was up.

"Babe,is something wrong?"

I stared into his eyes and quickly shook my head.

"Shay,what are you hiding from me?You can tell me anything."He said reaching out to touch me,but I backed away hand on my stomach,attempting to protect my unborn child.

"Why are you doing that,Shay?Did someone hurt you?!"

I shook my head,unable to find words to say to him.I backed up into the wall and Ronnie tried to follow me,but I started to cry.

"Stay right there!"I screamed.

He was shocked,but did as I told him to.

"Ronnie...after...court..."I started to say,but then the door bell rang.

Ronnie walked around me to open the door and I quickly moved to the other side of the room.

"Shay,you forgot your purse in the car.."A voice said.

"Fuck.."I cursed myself.

Ronnie's face was a mixture of pure confusion and anger.

"Who the fuck are you?"He asked Craig.

"The man you can't be."

My eyes widened.Things had gone from bad to worse.

"Shay,you want to explain this?!"Ronnie yelled.That honestly wasn't the worst of his tones,drugs did powerful things to the mind and he sometimes snapped for no reason.

"Hey,man!Don't talk to her like that!"Craig yelled at him.

"Stop,Stop,Stop!"I screamed at the top of my lungs,causing both Ronnie and Craig to turn and run in my direction.

" Ronnie,you got replaced!"I yelled,trying to get it out quickly,but expecting the worst.

"Excuse me?"Ronnie said.

"You heard her,you're out I'm in."Craig said.

Ronnie looked down and then walked out the door.Tears immediately ran down my face.

"Shayla.."Craig started to say.

"I know what he's going to do...."I sobbed,but Craig got my point.He knew that Ronnie was going to do drugs and get into some sort of trouble.

"I'll stay with you here until April comes back."Craig said.

I nodded."But could you do something else first.."

"Anything for you."

"Could you take me to the hospital,I think something is wrong with the baby..."
