"What is it?" I sleepily asked.

"Babe, wake up!"

"What?"

"Charlie, wake up!" Brian desperately said.

"Brian, what's wrong? Brian . . . oh, thank God." I said when it finally hit me that he was here.

"Daddy!" Jessie shouted, jumping into his arms.

"Baby, have you been awake for long?" I asked her.

"Yeah." she said, kissing her daddy's face all over.

"That's not important now." he said, grabbing my hand.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to Dom?" I asked.

"Come with me, now." he said.

"What? Why? Where are you taking me?"

"Just follow me."

"Brian, I'm not dressed to be . . ."

"You're fine." he said, pulling me along the outside stairs to the garden.

"What is wrong with you?"

"Charlotte, you are so beautiful to me, nothing can compare because everything pales in comparison to your eyes, your laugh, and that bright, beautiful smile. I might forget to tell you how beautiful you are but I want you to always feel it, you are so incredibly beautiful to me.

Our journey has been amazing but it's been hard as well. No one could possibly know or understand me the way you do, they wouldn't grasp who we are without having gone through everything we have. Even then they wouldn't understand, they would never understand how deep our bond is.

You are the most beautiful pregnant woman, the most beautiful being I have ever seen inside and out. You're the most amazing woman, friend, sister, and mother. The way that you care for, nourish and love the soul that's inside of you and the ones that surround you awes me every day.

I've put you through hell on more than one occasion and I'm a lucky bastard because you're here by my side. You see, I don't care or need the whole world to love me. I just need that one person to love me, I need you to love me.

Every time I feel troubled or stressed, I just think about you, your love, our family, to ease my soul. That is the power that your love has over me. No greater light illuminates my path than the gift that you've given me with Jessie and the change that the two of you, the three of you have brought into my life. When I look at you . . ."

"Brian, what . . ."

"Let me finish."

"Yeah, mommy, let him finish." Jessalyn said.

"Right, when I look at you, at the three of you I wonder when I did something really good, I mean really amazing to get such a marvelous gift. With the three of you, I can be my silliest best and never worry about being judged because you are my better half in the truest sense. I love you, all of you so much. I don't have a ring, I didn't buy one but with everything that's happened I just know that I need to make it official.

Charlotte Toretto, will you marry me?" he asked, making the tears pour down my face.

"I . . . Brian . . ."

"I know, the ring but I swear I'll buy you the biggest, shiniest ring you've ever seen. I promise." he said, stumbling over his words.

"I don't care about the ring, I . . ."

"Charlie, I . . ."

"Oh my God, would you shut up so I can say yes?"

"Yes? You're saying yes? You said yes?"
