"Another masterpiece done!" The makeup artist says as she turns me to face the mirror.

Kayla insistes on having up go to a salon she paid a lot of money for to get our hair and makeup done. I was against it the whole time but it is her wedding and I don't want to be the reason something goes wrong.

After the talk I had with Kayla yesterday I did think about talking to dad but when I woke up this morning he yelled at me for having overslept a minute. ONE MINUTE. At this point I feel like he's looking for any excuse to get mad at me and it makes me even more mad. I thought the wives were the ones who had a short temper around their wedding day, but who would've known that the groom was even worse.

"Alright Lark. Let's go before we're late."

I quietly follow Kayla out of the salon into her car. The car ride home was fast and we quickly ran into the house and grabbed our dresses.

We made it to the church just in time and I helped Kayla get ready for the wedding. She looked like a queen in the dress and I couldn't help but tear up. I know that dad will be left speechless and it only made me happier for both of them. I know that they make each other happy and that's all I could ever want for both of them. They deserve to live a happy life.

As Kayla continued to look at herself in the mirror I turn around to see Dean standing at the door. We make eye contact for a few seconds.

"Wow you look beautiful" he says in awe without looking away.

"Aww thank you son" Kayla says as she finishes fixing her hair for the last time. "Alright!" She says out loud causing me to look at the ground and away from Dean. "Go tell them I'm ready"

"Yeah sure" is all he says before he walks away.

Dean hasn't looked at me like that in a very long time. I walk out of the room and stand by the church entrance waiting for Kayla.

The music starts and everyone stands up to see us enter. I walk down the aisle first and go to stand across my dad. I look towards the crowd and see Nathan sitting in one of the aisles in front of me. He mouths the word 'beautiful' without looking away, not even for a second.

Kayla walks down the aisle with Dean escorting her. Once she reaches the alter she stands right across from dad and the ceremony begins.

"We are gathered here today" the priest begins.

The ceremony was beautiful and before I knew it, it was almost over. Dad and Kayla began to say their vows and I knew them by heart because I helped both of them write theirs.

I couldn't help but stare at Nathan while they were said. He never broke eye contact with me. Hearing those vows being said and seeing him sitting there in front of me made me so happy. All of the people I care about the most in this world are all in one room and I couldn't be any happier.

The reception hall is decorated beautifully and I couldn't help but feel proud.

"You did a great job" Nathan says as he comes up behind me to give me a hug.

"Thank you" I say as I rest my hands over his.

We both walk over to a simple high table on the side of the dance floor. Nathan goes off to get a drink and I wait for him to come back.

I see Dean across the room greeting some of his family members. We make eye contact for a brief second but I turn away.

"Here" Nathan says as he places a cup of water in front of me.

"Thank you"

"So" he says casually as he takes a sip of his drink. I don't know how he got it but I know for a fact it isn't water. "Have you talked to your dad?"
