April 22nd, 1960
Only 2 weeks after their first meeting John had asked Paul to join the Quarrymen, his band. And it was the night of October 18th, 1957 that he first performed with them. He gradually got closer with John who he found to be funny and charming. However, it was the night of April 22nd when they realized how much in common they had.
Paul's place was small, not too small, but not too spacious either. Both him and John were seated on the floor of the living room, as they were quite often.
"John."

"Yeah?"

"I think I got something."

"Give it a go then."

Paul pulled out his guitar and sung what was a rhythmic melody which he accompanied with tapping and strumming on the instrument.
"...Only then I realized I lost my little girl..."

"Not bad. What's it about."

"Well, it's really about my mum. She died in '56."

"I'm sorry mate. Mine in '59"

"Really? What was she like?"

"Julia...she was sweet and funny. Really caring. Yours?"

"She was really great. Y'know whenever I would find myself in times of trouble my mother Mary would come to me, speaking words of wisdom y'know."

"What would she say?"

"Comforting stuff really y'know. Let it be."

"Y'know Paul..."

"Yeah?"

"You have that sort of quality. From your mum I mean. You're very comforting. The things you say." John remarked, his head down, tracing circles into the carpet with his finger.
"You really think so?"

"Yeah" he replied, looking back up.

"Thanks"

Now it was Paul's turn to look down a blush crawling up his face. He wasn't used to compliments and John rarely gave them.
