Standing here looking out my window
My nights are long and my days are cold
Cause I don't have you
How can I be so damn demanding?
I know you said that it's over now
But I can't let go
Every day I want to pick up the phone
And tell you that
You're everything I need and more
If only I could find you
Like a cold Summer afternoon
Like the snow coming down in June
Like a wedding without a groom
I'm missing you
I'm the desert without the sand
You're the woman without a man
I'm a ring without a hand
I'm missing you

"Man I hate it here," Chance said.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him laughing.
"Pick up my last check. My dad decided I should be working for his company instead of wasting my time here. What about you?" He asked.
"Same. I found a new job. I start in six weeks though. So I'm going to spend that time with my child instead of coming here," I shrugged.
"Well I understand that. I was at your graduation, but I couldn't find you, so I still have you gift. How did you like the baby's gift?" He asked.
"I loved it, the custom made crib to look like a throne. It was amazing. Other Chance was actually mad that he didn't think of the idea first," I chuckled. We fell into silence.
"What's wrong Lyric?" He finally asked.
"I'm just going through some things," I sighed.
"You know you can talk to me right? Tell me what's wrong," he smiled softly.
I wiped the tears that were threatening to fall from my eyes. I refuse to cry. "Okay. I've only talked about this to my brother and I tried to put on a brave face for him, so if I start crying, it's because I have yet to express these feelings," I sighed. He squeezed my hand in response. "It's no secret that King is married and it was no secret that he got me and his wife pregnant. So how about we were chilling at my house watching a movie. Then all of a sudden he started yelling like he had lost his damn mind. Come to find out, his wife didn't call him when she went into labor, so he missed the baby's birth," I started.
"Damn," he said.
"Yeah and all I did was tell him to stop yelling before he woke our baby. And this nigga gone say I tried to trap him. Then he said I tried to ruin his marriage and that KJ wasn't his son. And Chance, he purposely impregnated me, to keep me in his life," I explained. His mouth dropped.
"That's fucked up. You are not the reason he missed his child's birth," he shrugged. "And who the hell he think he is to disown a baby he's responsible for. King must have bumped his damn head. See I told you get with other Chance."
"Chance shut up. And that's not even the worst part," I sighed.
"It ain't? What is then?" He asked.
"I miss him," I pouted. He nodded his head.
"Has he called you?" He asked.
"I don't know. I blocked him because I don't wanna deal with him for a while," I shrugged.
"You are handling this better than I thought you would. But eventually you're going to have to talk to him. At least for KJ's sake," he shrugged.
