'R' Lone Prayer

Chapter 6

The girl in black flew fast and head strong into the direction of both the girl.

Raising Heart: Evasion. Flier Fin.

The device was able to automatically cast the spell before Nanoha could react as she immediately flies up into the air as soon as the device was almost within reach. Novena on the other hand simply hovers above just enough for the scythe to harmlessly pass beneath her feet. While Nanoha is still confused with the entire situation to form up any counterattacks, the black magical is surprised to see the non-magic user simply dodge the attack with so very little movement that she jumps away to make some distance from the R-Type girl.

Black Magical Girl: (She was able to dodge that slice simply by moving up? Looks like this one has a very sharp reflex. Maybe sharper.)

She held the scythe back as her device calls out a spell.

Bardiche: Arc Saber.

She swings the scythe and mana energy from the device launches out, spiraling towards Nanoha. Novena quickly flies in front of her friend and directs the camera force in front. The collision causes a puff of smoke to engulf the two girls.

Yuuno: Nanoha! Novena!

Both girls fly up but the black magical girl suddenly appears in front of them with an overhead strike. Novena simply let the scythe hit the camera force and the resulting strike stops in its track.

Bardiche: Warning. Small Continuous Damage Detected.

The girl quickly draws her device away from the force module. Upon inspection, she could see very small cracks form on the device.

Black Magical Girl: (A mass weapon that can slowly damage my device!? And she appears to be defending the magic-user very vigorously. I'll have to deal with her somehow if I were to get any closer to that magic-user.)

Then the black magical girl realized flashing lights that occasional snap from the two bit modules.

Black Magical Girl: (Small sphere cameras? I see... she's testing me. If that's the case...)

Nanoha: Why? Why, so suddenly...

Novena could tell that she's directly asking the magical girl in front of her. Said girl heard this and answered.

Black Magical Girl: Even if I answered, it would likely be meaningless.

Nanoha could only give a very frustrated look on her face as the black magical girl flies back to the same tree branch she was standing. Nanoha then looks at Novena while asking her.

Nanoha: Novena-chan... let me handle this for once. If anything bad happens, you'll come for me, right?

Novena nods as both girls fly down and in front of the fallen kitten.

Bardiche: Device Mode.

The device slid its head back into its previous position while Raising Heart goes into shooting mode as she takes aim at the girl.

Raising Heart: Divine Buster, stand by.

The girl atop the tree branches points her device straight to Nanoha while her device spoke of the spell on standby.

Bardiche: Photon Lancer, get set.

Nanoha's thoughts are currently centered around the girl in front of her.

Nanoha: (I'm sure she's my age. Pretty eyes, and pretty hair... But this girl...)

The kitten finally woke up from the fall as Nanoha's attention was shifted to the kitten. A yellow electrical surging sphere forms in front of the device of the opposing girl. She silently apologizes without any hint of concern as she silently says the command phrase "fire" which sends the bolt of energy straight to Nanoha, who realized it too late.
