A breath of fresh air,
A fragrance only known to those who who truly know the worth of a flower.
A malleable essence of divine discovery,
Truly the sight is of utter beauty.

My patience about her is but a folly,
Some virtue my wait has.
She is a foreigner to my resemblence,
But my heart recognizes her being.

I undertook the disciplines of love.
I neither thought nor understood I contracted an illness of the heart.
Every moment the memory of her makes me toss and turn.

I stay awake and sleep will not come to me,
Such is the state that she leaves me in.
I speak the truth,
She had unwillingly claimed my heart.

ANALYSIS OF THE POEM

SUMMARY : TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND.

He sees her for the first time in a new school. He describes her as follows :
He says that she is like a breath of fresh air, like after being trapped in a tunnel and coming out to meet a breath of fresh air. She is as breathtaking as a fragrance of a flower. She is nothing but a divine art of work. And only those who honour and love beautiful things from nature can understand his sudden outburst of realizing something so pure.
She is calm yet brave, she is fragile but still stands her ground. She is so fierce yet so mesmerizing that it feels like he just discovered a legendary piece of gold. Truly her beauty is a rare one that this world struggles to bare. He compares her to an angel, a one that only fortunate beings get to see.

He says his mind toys with him because it keeps telling him to be patient and wait a little while longer. But he knows that his heart wants more than the mind can understand so that's why he cannot wait. Some patience his heart has. He admits that his heart is quick to approach but he manages to stop it because he realizes that he in reality doesn't know who this girl is. Even though he tries to stop himself his heart takes over by allowing itself to acknowledge and accept her as the object of his affection.

Right at that moment he became an overly protective and possessive man. He taught himself the rules of love and became a lover to his beloved. He didn't even think or try to understand what on earth the consequences of his actions would turn out to  be. He sleeps but sleep refuses to come to him and that's when he admits that he has definitely contracted an illness of the heart. She had left him in such a state that even the doctors would not have been able to diagnose his diagnosis. He says that she has surely taken away the right of saying that his heart belongs to him. From now on he addresses his heart as if it were hers.
