Back from the Future;

"Okay, your mission supplies are packed, the schematics have been uploaded to Chase's chip, and your transport is on the way." Mr. Davenport speaks as he paces the lab."Did I forget anything?"

"No." I deadpan gaining his attention."They'll just guess what the mission is and see how it all plays out." I retort from my spot next to my bionic friends.

"All right. A particle collider is a three-mile-long underground facility where scientists--"

"Race subatomic particles at each other at light speed for energy experiments." Chase interrupts and walks over to stand beside his dad. Then inevitably geeks out with him."So cool!"

"I know."They both then do this strange little hand thing and I shoot them a raised brow. "There is a particle collider in Berkeley that is accelerating out of control, and your mission is to shut it down."

"Oh ho! Awesome! I hope one of us knows how to do that." I once again roll my eyes and release an annoyed huff.

"Okay. We have to act quickly. The scientist that operate the facility--" I as well as the bionic trio follow Davenport over to Leo."'scuuuuse me--" He then pushes Leo out of the way and begins to type on his computer and pulls up a simulation."Have already evacuated the control center, and if we don't shut it down in time, it will create a massive black hole that will implode the entire planet."

I release a shaky breath and feel a deep pit form inside my stomach as Mr. Davenport finishes telling us the situation. "Today?! No, that's not gonna work." We all glance at Leo wondering why this is such a big deal to him specifically. "Today is Shelly Evan's birthday, and her mom makes the best cupcakes!"I shoot an irritated look at my vertically challenged friend, as the others give him looks of disbelief."I'm just sayin'. That woman doesn't skimp on the sprinkles."Big part as to why her moms' cupcakes are delicious, but that's not important right now.

"Don't worry, Leo, you will get your cupcakes. Adam, Bree, and Chase have all the training they need to shut the collider down." We all follow Big D over to the cyber desk.

"I don't know, Big D. I think these guys are gonna need some...backup!" Leo says this in a stupid sing-song voice and does his weird superhero pose.

"Yeah, and that's why you're gonna be back up! Here in the lab with me." I begin to laugh but stop when Adam speaks.

"Oh, he said 'backup' and you said 'backup.' Saying things twice makes it funny! Oh! saying things twice makes it fun-" Big D yells at Adam and I turn and share a look with Bree from my spot behind the desk.

My ears then pick up on an unusual noise as the hair on the back of my neck stands on end. I look behind me where the noise originated and see a spinning ball land with someone yelling. When the ball disappears we see a guy and we all shout in alarm. I and Bree duck behind the desk, while Adam jumps onto Chase, and Leo uses Big D as a human shield. Hesitantly I raise my head above the desk to look at the intruder.

"Nobody panic! Probably just the cable guy."Highly doubtful!

"Come on, Big D, I just came from seven years in the future. Your time machine actually worked!" The grown man stands up from his seat and continues to talk at the mad scientist as Bree and I stand from our 'hiding' spot. "It's me! Leo!" My eyes pop out at the man saying he's Leo and my jaw opens in disbelief. I tilt my head and study the stranger and notice a few things about him. Same ridiculous shirt type, deeper voice, and he appears to be just as hyperactive as Leo.

"The cable guy's got the same name as you!" o moy Bog, Adam. (1)

"Wait. If you're really me, then you'd know the handshake I came up with in case I ever became a spy." My dear frail friend speaks as he approaches the 'Future' Leo.
