I sit on the round bench in the hall, while I talk to the bionic trio about a test Bree and I had in history class when we hear the she-devil.

"Listen up, space-fillers! This is emergency preparedness week. An emergency drill can happen at any time."I sling my galaxy backpack onto my shoulder and walk over to her with the bionic trio. "So when the alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building in an orderly fashion--like cattle, if cattle had acne....and braces...and a future filling up my gas tank."

The little evil gnome we have as a principal then speed walks away from us all. I roll my eyes and lean on Bree as Adam speaks.

"Oh, man! I wish I had Bree's super-speed! Because you do not want to be stuck walking behind cows in an emergency, trust me on that." I raise a brow and look to Leo and we both shrug not really wanting to ask exactly how the goofy giant knows this.

"You would trade your super-strength for Bree's super-speed? Man, if I had your strength, I'd just run out of the building juggling those cows."

"Yeah, and if I had your super-intelligence, I'd have walked away from this conversation thirty seconds ago."

I stand straight as Chase swings his arm around my shoulder. I look up to him and he just smiles and I respond with an eye roll.

"Hey, you know what would be awesome?" Uh oh I sense a horrible idea is going to be said."If you guys took out your bionic chips and switched your abilities."

"No. That would not be a good idea!" I state firmly but am ignored as the bionic trio look at each other excited.

"Why can't we?"

"I call your super-smarts!"

"I call your super-speed!"

"I call your super-strength!"

"I call good looks and charisma. Oh, too late. Already got 'em."

Leo begins to walk away and I shrug off Chase's arm as I shout to Leo.

"You can't call what you can never have or achieve." The others begin to giggle as Leo sends me a death glare. I shrug and he walks off.

I stand in the lab besides Chase as they all prepare to switch their chips. "If you guys are gonna switch your chips before school, don't you think you should run this be Davenport first?"

"Or not do it at all." I speak from my spot besides Chase. But of course my words fall upon deaf ears.

"They're our chips."

"Well, yeah, but what if something glitches out and you end up with Adam's gigantic head on Chase's tiny, doll-like body?" I grimace at the mental image in my head and grab Chase's arm in comfort since he freaked a bit.

"We don't have to ask "daddy" for permission on every single little thing we do."

"Yeah. I mean, do you think I ask Davenport which shoe goes on what foot? No! I label them 'left' and 'not left.'" I let go of Chase's arm and smack my forehead at the evidence provided by Adam that confirms him labeling his shoes.

"Okay, Bree. Attach the chip extractors to the capsules. I'll program the computer for chip removal. And Adam, you...jus-just get into your capsule."

Adam pops up out of his chair cheering and dashes off into his capsule.

"Now, Leo, I have the most important job of all for you." I may not like this idea but why you gotta exclude me, dummy."Now, once we get inside, I'm going to need you...to push this green button." I grab the bridge of my nose as Chase wraps his arm 'round Leo.
