Chore Wars;

I stop outside of the house and look at the watch on my wrist and internally cheer.

YES! 6 miles in one hour!

I carefully remove my earbuds and then stuff them into the pocket of my dark black running leggings. I then grab my phone out of the jacket and put it in the pocket as well then remove my galaxy jacket and tie it 'round my waist leaving my ombre blue criss-cross sports bra on my upper body. I open the wooden front door to the house and begin to kick off my workout shoes.

"Tasha? I'm back!" I bend down and grab my shoes when I hear a cough. I pick my head up and quickly stand upright again leaving my shoes on the ground as I mess with my braid.

"Oh. H-he-hey, guys." I then nervously laugh at them as they all look at me a little stunned by my sweaty appearance. 

Before the silence can become awkward Tasha enters the room. Oh, thank god!

"Wow. You guys just did a day's worth of chores in three minutes."My eyes bulge out of my head as Tasha looks about the room impressed."You know, if this whole mission thing doesn't work out, I can buy a minivan, and we can open up a cleaning service." I chuckle a little at Tasha and her idea."Here you go." She then passes out the money to the trio.

"Oh, mama just got a new pair of shoes."

"I am now worth seven dollars."

"I wish I knew how to count." I giggle at all of their excitement but have a hard time not laughing out loud at Adam as he rubs the money against his face.

"Just make sure you all spend your money responsibly."

Tasha then turns around and spots me and sends a warm smile my way. "Anya, back already."

"Yeah, I got a text from Mrs. Williams saying she had my pay. So I ran over to her place and she gave it to me."

I walk up to Tasha removing the envelope out of my jacket and opening it and removing the $400.

"Here's the $100 to send to my parents for my phone bill, and another $20 for driving me to the store so I could get my new pencils, sketch pad, and folder." 

I pass the money over to her and she nods to me to go up to my room. I start making my way to the stairs when I hear Bree speak up.

"Wait how do you have so much money?"

"I babysit Mrs. Williams's kids five times a month. I'm there for the entire day at times. Why do you think I disappear for long periods of time every so often?" Before they say anything else I skip up the stairs to go and wash all the sweat off of my body.

I sit at the counter with some photos I've taken spread out in front of me while Bree and Chase sit on the couch.

"Hey, guys."I turn around real quick and see Adam enter the house holding a laundry basket? I give up."The neighbors are selling their stuff in the front yard. I spent my last five bucks on this whole basket of socks!"

"Adam, you don't even wear socks."

"Hello? Sock puppets." He says to me holding up his sock-covered hands.

"Well, I spent my chore money starting my hideous babies collection." Seriously Bree."There's lip-sore Lizzy, pink-eye Peggy, and the limited edition triple-chin Chuck." She says as she shows them off to us all.

"What'd you buy Chase?" I ask as I sit on the couch's armrest.

"I bought financial security. That's right." I shake my head as I scoff in amusement at the sight of his money briefcase."Just me and my money for the rest of my life. I'm saving every dollar." He then closes the case and attaches one part of a handcuff to himself while the other is attached to the briefcase."Friends come and go, but money is forever."
