Patsy throws on her jacket and heads for the back door, aware that she has been found. As she reaches for her precious book, a loud, booming knock sounds from the front of the house. They're here. She's too late.
Jasmine waits for the second knock and shows Patsy a look of genuine worry. She shuffles down the hallway and puts on a fake smile while Patsy ducks out the back door and into the yard.
Jasmine unbolts the locks on the door and welcomes in Daniel. Reva follows close behind him. She introduces herself. "Hello, I'm Reva! I'm an old friend of Daniel's. We were in nearly all of the same classes in high school. You're Jasmine, right?"
Jasmine shook her head in disbelief. She waited years for this to come. Patsy had told her everything.
"Oh, yeah, I'm Jasmine. I don't remember you from high school." Jasmine states curiously, but mainly in attempt to keep Reva from entering further into her house.
"I liked to keep to myself." Reva says and tucks her black hair behind her ear.
"Daniel, why don't I remember her?" Jasmine asks.
"Uh," Daniel gets elbowed into answering. "We didn't do anything together outside of school."
"Anyway," Reva interrupts. "Where is Patsy?" She says, sliding her gun out of the back of her pants.
"What?" Jasmine fake gasps at the sight of the weapon.
"You heard me, where!" Reva yells.
"Please Jasmine, just answer her." Daniel advises.
"No," Jasmine says in disgust.
Reva adjusts her aim. Daniel is now held hostage. "Tell me or you're friend will die." Reva says, eyes firmly fixed on Jasmine. Any sudden movement and she'd pull the trigger.
"You don't have to do this. Please, just drop the gun." Jasmine begs.
Daniel takes advantage of Reva's distraction and grabs the gun, pointing it to the ceiling. Reva shoots and dust rains down.
Daniel, now in full control of the pistol, aims it at Reva as he backs away from her, towards Jasmine.
"Daniel, I thought we trusted each other." Reva says, shocked.
"You thought wrong." Daniel grabs Jasmine's arm and drags her to the back door, while ensuring Reva stayed back. He did that by making use of the high tech gun in his hands, aimed at Reva.
They meet up with Patsy in the backyard, already to the trees at the back of the lot. As Patsy realizes who it is, a smile spreads across her face and she runs towards them, arms outstretched.
"Patsy, who are you? Why does that woman want you and is willing to kill merely to find you? How did she know I met you, let alone that day?" He waits for a second. "Answer me!" Daniel yells. Patsy turns her back.
Patsy bites her lip. "You can't know, I'm sorry. I really am. It will be clear to you someday, and you will be satisfied but, I can't tell you. I'm sorry."
