Sighing, I rose from the quilt and went to pick up the mess in the kitchen. By the time that was done, Daniel was still gone, so I wandered around the tiny area and found my way to his dresser.
In the first drawer, there was lime green hair dye and tons of gel. I shook my head and grinned to myself. The next drawer down revealed plain boxer briefs and I couldn't help but lift one with my two fingers. I laughed to myself and moved on. The third and last was parts and shirts, and beneath that was a pair of jeans way too small for him and girls shirts.
Frowning, I removed them and looked at each one carefully. They definitely weren't mine. Suddenly angry with this new discovery, I flung the clothes on the ground and stormed off to the bathroom for a hot bath.
Once there, I found a pair of pajama bottoms on the towel rack that I knew were mine. I found some soap in the cupboard and only conditioner in the rack in the shower.
I quickly undressed and double checked that i had locked the door. I didnt want any surprises bursting in.
Putting the water as hot as i could stand, I climbed in and soaked in all of the hot water. My hair was in a messy bun at the top of my head. With my eyes closed, it felt like I had been sitting there for a long time. Suddenly, I hear... music.
I opened my eyes and peered around the room, looking for the source. My eyes landed on the watch that I had taken off with my damp hand. It sat on the counter by the sink.
Intrigued, I got up from the tub and wrapped the gray towel around myself from under the arms. I dried my water wrinkled hands and picked up the watch. I wiped it on my towle and immediately after it was fully dry, it stopped.
I moistened my lips and turned on the sink faucet to experiment. I ran the watch under it, and it instantly began the music again. Pulling the clock from the water, I opened it and a faze of images exploded from inside. I gasped. All around me were fabulous colors of every shade. Music was playing from an orchestra that sounded beautiful and full of life. I was in a ballroom, the clock still opened in my hand.
No one noticed me in just my towel. In fact, whenever someone came near, they seemed to pass right through me.
"Hello?" I said.
No one turned or gave any indication that I was there. Then turned and saw a girl with long black hair and hazel green eyes just like mine.
The girl looked up and instantly saw me. I looked from side to side to see if anyone was looking back at her, but there was no one but me. The girl was dressed in an elegant ball gown. It was a beautiful Autumn orange with specks of golden dust layering over it. Even her cheeks were speckled gold. She stared directly at me, missing nothing.
Someone came up behind the girl and took her arm. "Evangeline," He said. "There you are. Where have you been?"
Evangeline stared at me a moment longer before turning to the man behind her. As she turned, I got a glimpse of an evil smile before it disappeared again. I straightened on my tip toes and saw his face as they both turned a corner.
Xander Leon Solace.
My heart quickened by the sudden danger, even if i myself wasn't. I had to do something, warn Evangeline that Leon was going to kill her. I started forward and slipped through the throng of people like a ghost in their mist. I raced toward the corner then turned and-
"Eona!"
I froze mid-step. No one could see me here, I knew. So who...?
I turned and found Daniel standing a good ten feet away from me. "You can't do that," He said. His hair was down now but still blinding green. "I know what you're about to do. Believe me, I've tried, but it wont make a difference."
"I have to try," I whispered. "I have to help her." I turned to go, but then i suddenly felt his strong hand around my forearm.
"We need to go," he said more intensely. His eyes were sharp and icy. "Now."
I turned my head and stared down the corridor. All the way at the end was Evangeline and Leon. They were talking about something when they walked into a room.
I pursed my lips and turned back to Daniel who hadn't taken his eyes off of me. Daniel wordlessly took the clock from my hand and said something in German. The world around me started to exaggeratedly slow down until it altogether stopped completely. Then, Daniel said one last line and finally snapped the clock shut, submerging us into darkness.
