I turned and Daniel spoke.
"I told you about the witch that Leon went to," he confirmed. "I told you hat he kills you every time you and I meet. But what I haven't told you are the parts I have been involved in." There was a pause.
"It is true that Leon has killed you multiple times. And it is also true that I have killed you. But, it wasn't me doing it."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"He meant to say that he was possessed," Leon cut in.
"By who?" I asked, turning my head to look back at him.
"The witch that cursed me." Daniel answered. I turned back to him. "Somehow," he went on, "she entered my body and my consciousness couldn't push through. It was like I was there, but I couldn't control myself. I watched helplessly as my hands killed you."
For a moment, everyone was silent. Then I turned to Leon and said, "Then why did you say he was a murderer of his own will if you knew?"
"Because," he replied, looking down at me with dark, green eyes. "The witch can posses anyone at anytime, so anyone you meet is a threat. Including Daniel."
"But why do you suddenly care about my safety?" I questioned. "Aren't you so bent on killing me?"
Leon grinned crookedly. "Don't tempt me, love," he leered.
Disgusted, I stepped a few feet away from him but that made his grin wider.
"Don't call me that," I shivered. "It's too creepy."
He chuckled humorlessly. "Why don't you get in the car and I'll show you how creepy I can be."
I scowled at him and snarled, "You're going to hell."
Leon laughed back at me. "I'll see you there."
"Leon!" Daniel barked. "Just get in the car and keep your snider remarks to yourself."
Leon scoffed. "Yes, mother." Reluctantly through, he walked his stubborn ass to the car and slammed the door shut after him.
Daniel turned back to ne after watching him go. "Just ignore him, Eona," He suggested. "It's me he's angry with. He's just taking it out on you."
I shrugged it off. "Whatever. Let's just go before I change my mind."
He looked like he wanted to say more, but he kept his mouth shut. He turned and walked back to the car. After a few moments, I followed and climbed in.
"Ah..." Leon sighed as I climbed in. "You just couldn't stay away from creepville, could you?"
"I am only here because of Daniel." I answered.
Daniel turned the engine over and resumed on the empty road without acknowledging our bickering.
"Besides," I continued. "Two's a company. Three's a party."
Daniel chuckled softly to himself, and I leaned back- satisfied. Leon had nothing to say to that.
