"No!"

I charged Alaric.

"Eona!" Daniel yelled behind me.

I was focused on the shot gun that was leveled on Daniels shiftless chest. Right when Alaric's finger twitched, both of my hands shot forward and pushed the barrel upwards. The shotty went wild and parts of my ceiling rained down on top of my head.

Alaric glared down at me with a snarl on his face. "What were you thinking?" He yelled. "Never run at a loaded gun!"

I suddenly got furious and narrowed my eyes menacingly. "What were you thinking?" I screamed back. "What the hell are you doing with a loaded gun?"

"If you havent realized, I'm trying to protect you from him!" Alaric turned his icy gaze to Daniel who stared back defiantly.

"Hello, Alaric," Daniel said, deadly calm. "It's been years."

I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What do you mean years?" I emphisized. Then I turned to Alaric. "You're a Feit Nomaden like Daniel?"

Alaric made a sound deep in his throat. "You told her."

"I didn't have a choice." Daniel defended.

"You know how dangerous that is." Alaric growled."She will never be safe now!"

To that, Daniel had no reply. Instead, he bent to pick up his bloody stained shirt and pulled it over his head, roughly tugging it into place. "We don't have time for this," he said. "Eona, we have to go. I cant protect you if you are here with Alaric and Meg. They will make sure I am no where to be seen."

"She is not going anywhere!" Meg's voice echoed.through the house. She appeared in the doorway, here lips and eyes taut. "You need to leave, Daniel."

"Not without Eona."

"If you think I'm-."

"Stop!" I yelled. Everyone went silent and turned their gazes towards me. I found two pissed off gaurdians and a frustrated boy looking at me. "It's my life," I told them. "Not anyone else's. Mine. And I should decide wether I want to stay or go."

"We'll call the police," Meg threatened. "You wont make it down the block."

I stared at Meg with serious eyes. "If you do that, you'll never see me again."

"Forever is a certainly long time," Alaric pointed out. "Especially for an immortal."

That statement caught me off guard. "Hold on... I'm immortal?"

Alaric smiled darkly. "How do you think you're alive?"

"Eona," Daniel said, "We have to go."

"You're boyfriend didn't tell you, did he?" Alaric continued. "Haven't you wondered why you survived the crash?"

I turned to Daniel. "What is he talking about?" My voice cracked.

"I'm talking about the one thing he hasen't told you. Who really dragged you out of that car, Eona?" Alaric asked. "Have you ever even thought about who hit your car?"

I stayed silent. the room was still. I could feel Daniels eyes burning a whole through the back of my head. Slowly, I turned around to face him. Daniel was speechless.

"Was it you?" I breathed.

Daniels gaze went to the floor. "Yes," he said. "It was me."

"So you were the one that pulled me out..." I looked at his green hair. "How could toy save me if you tried to kill me?"

Daniel's expression then broke. He rushed toward me and placed his hands on my fore arms. "I never tried to kill you. I told you, it was the curse. Once you are eighteen- or almost eighteen- you die."

I pulled away from him. "That still doesn't explain how you crashed into our car that night. Or his I could die hundreds if years ago and reincarnate every eighteen years."

Daniel's jaw clenched. "I was drunk. I was drunk, and I made the wild decision to drive. After the crash, I used my pocket watch to heal myself, and then I looked for survivors. Then I found you."

"How am I immortal?"

"You've been accepted," Meg spoke up behind me. I whirled towards her. " All of those centuries ago, you were never chosen to become immortal. Only a rare few will be on the brink of death and survive, but they come back... differently. Some with scars, and others are changed mentally."

I looked at my aunt and uncle and realized they probably weren't the same people that they are today.

"But why was I accepted?" I asks looking back and forth. "Why now?"

"Something has changed." Daniel answered. "Though, I don't know what exactly has changed. You either die, or become immortal by drinking an elixir."

"His do we find out?"

No one had an answer.

"We'll think more about this later," Daniel broke the silence. "But you are not safe right now. Leon will be arriving soon. It will take more than the three of us to protect you."

"Then why should she go with you?" Alaric questioned. "If not even the three of us could protect her, then what makes you think you could protect her?"

"I know of somewhere safe." Daniel answered.

They were talking about me like I wasn't even there.

"She is not going anywhere with you!" Meg screamed.

"I want to go with Daniel." I cut in.

"Eona," Alaric began, "He's not safe."

I raised my chin. "Says the guy who just fores a shot gun. I'm pretty sure I can handle myself. Besides, why would I stay here with the tow of toy when you haven't even cared about me this past month. I was alone."

Alaric and Meg looked a bit guilty.

"Honestly, I feel more safe with Daniel. After all, he was the only one that was by my side. And he didn't check up on me constantly to see if I had any thoughts of suicide. He actually cared."

Both of their hands were clenched and their mouths were tight. They didn't deny my accusation.

"Lets go, Daniel." I shoved past Alaric and headed down the stairs. Daniel wasn't far behind.

When we got outside, he silently walked to my truck and climbed into the driver's seat. He must've grabbed my keys on the way out. I climbed into the passenger's side and shut the door. A few moments pater, the truck rumbled to life and Daniel eased out of the driveway and into the road.

We drove in silence.
