It Wasn't Us, It Was You

Chapter 2

"What do you think you're doing?!" Chloe shouted angrily, from across the hall, walking towards Maddie and Josh. "I mean, what do you think you're doing? Josh is mine." She said trying to maintain her fake, sweet smile. It was extremely obvious that she and Maddie both had crushes on Josh. Maddie realeased hands from Josh as he was pulled away by Chloe.

"Oh my gosh! That was Josh Hyland, the most pouplar boy at school!" Nia, excitedly said as they started walking to the cafeteria line. "I know." Maddie replied, excitedly because she didn't think that he would know her. She held the lunch tray, following her friends to the tables.

"Really, Maddie, pizza?" Kendall joked as she squeezed the ranch bottle and poured it on her salad. "Yes" Maddie giggled. Maddie, Kendall, and Nia were best friends, that was pretty obvious.

The bell rang at 3:00 for the end of school. Maddie walked home quickly (after taking the bus) to get ready for another dreaded dance day. Maddie opened up her big dresser of dancewear and settled on a light blue sport bra and white bootie shorts. She grabbed her donut, 2 brown hair ties, a case of bobby pins, and a dark blue colored hair flower from the bathroom and stood in front of the vanity in her bedroom. Maddie started doing her normal, brunette hair into a "Sophia Lucia bun". After finishing with her hair, Maddie got a powder from her makeup collection and put it on, and applied some normal, red lip gloss. That was all that was needed for makeup. Walking downstairs, she sighed, grabbing her dance bag and walked out the door.

When they arrived, Maddie walked into the dancers den groaning, as she saw Chloe was there. 'At least Kendall and Nia are here for me.' The 14-year old thought, pulling on her tan jazz shoes. Since the incident, Maddie just really didn't feel like dancing. She was bullied from the start of high school. She didn't have the spark in dancing as she did when she was younger. Even Abby noticed it, when she returned to dance from the hospital.

Seeing Kendall and Nia standing beside her, she got up from the cushioned seat in the den, and they walked together to Studio A.

As Maddie walked into Studio A, memories surrounded her. The past was slowly taking over.
