Chapter Five Training Day: Jayson

I never expected to make a huge impact in the world. To be honest, I just wanted to live a normal life. I must be too nice though since people like to take advantage of it and use me. Would I count this time as one? Honestly I don't know, maybe it was meant to be. I know we have to leave soon to warn the government but I don't think Eve is ready. I was surprised to know that she didn't even unlock her own power yet. She was only given a portion of other powers that she has yet to master too. Oh boy... well lets just hope that I can teach her how to use her powers.

"Okay Eve let's try to train a bit before we leave. I've set up a target at the tree in front of you but before you can start shooting at it I want to see if we can help you use your shapeshifting powers. Try closing your eyes and concentrate on your power."

She closed her eyes and had her arms extended out. I could see her aura flowing through her body, there were multiple colors going around her.

"I think it's working Eve, try to think of one of your evolutions and focus on that."

Her face was more focused than how it was as I started to see a red and orange aura flowing around her as she started to transform. She started to glow brighter as it became hard to see what was happening. The transformation was complete as she opened her eyes and looked up to me.

"Well? Did it work?" she asked

My face blushed seeing how pretty she was as a Flareon. I shook my head and focused on her and created a mirror out of water to show her reflection. "See for yourself."

She looked at the mirror and gasped, surprised that it had actually worked. She then turned and faced the target in front of her. She closed her eyes and breathed slowly as she concentrated on her power. Her eyes opened as she threw a punch shooting out a fireball from her fists hitting her target.

"Wow!! Did you see that Bui?! It was awesome!!" She jumped out of excitement and hugged me tight.

I hugged her back and smiled. "Heh you did good Eve I'm proud but that's only a bit of your Flareon mode. I'm wondering how long you can stay in that form and if you can master your other forms. Can you try to do another attack on your target?"

She got back into a fighting stance and closed her eyes as she calmed her breathing. I could see her aura changing colors and getting bigger. Her eyes opened as a blue and red aura flowed around her legs. She kicked forward with her right leg sending out a wave of fire at the target and then followed up with a second kick with her left foot that shot out a wave of water towards the target, destroying it completely.

"Eve your legs? They are different."

She looked down at her legs and saw that her left leg represented Vaporeon and her right leg Flareon. Her right arm slowly started to change back into her Eevee form.

"I think I am starting to get the hang of it Bui. I just need to start working on using the other forms and mastering their powers." She stayed quiet for a bit and turned to face me. "Bui...you haven't told me what your powers were yet, can you tell me what they are now?"

"I have two kinds of powers Eve. The one that you saw against the hunters is actually similar to your shapeshifting powers. I call it a hybrid type advantage meaning I can use all the types, but I'm able to control water, ice and fire more than the other types. The other power I have is what I call rage which means I have the ability to absorb energy from the damage I've taken and can redirect it twice as hard back. So pretty much with each hit I take it will effectively make me stronger."

"That sounds so much cooler than my power!" She folds her arms in disappointment.

"I mean to shapeshift into any of your evolution forms sounds pretty cool, especially when you're able to control their powers too." I chuckled and rubbed the back of my head.

"Maybe we should try to practice our powers against each other Bui." She smiled and looked at me with determination.

"Hmm I don't know....I am pretty strong when I take hits you know. I wouldn't want to hit a pretty looking girl like you." I joked and chuckled and turned around having my back towards her.

I must have made her a bit mad because as soon as I turned around she shot a fireball from her fists that past my head almost hitting me. I turned back to look at her with an innocent face.

"Are you calling me weak? Because if you are, I'm going to make sure you take back what you said." She smirked as her aura was getting bigger with many colors surrounding her body.

"Heh heh not at all." I chuckled and took a deep breath realizing my mistake and let out a hard sigh as I rubbed my neck knowing I'm gonna have to fight her because of my big mouth. "But...if you ever do that again, you better not miss."
