Chapter Eight The Berserk Paladin: Jayson

I didn't know what to do. I knew I had to protect her but to do that I must use it. It could kill me if things go wrong but if she lives then that's all that matters. Blood continued to fall from my cheek from the arrow piercing it but I could feel my entire body heating up slowly from my rage ability. I told Dew to stay in the house and hide while I try to save Eve. I knew that if I involved Dew into all this then it would complicate things so I needed her to stay put.

"Be safe okay?" Dew says hugging me.

"I will, here take this." I gave her a light blue orb.

"What is this?" She asked.

"It's a weapon, squeeze it"

She squeezed the orb as it started to shine and change its form from a sphere to a bow. The bow was covered in Ice.

"This is a special bow that was given to me. You don't need to carry arrows. Once you draw back your bow, an arrow will form by itself like this. Fire at a target or a spot and it will slowly start to freeze up."

"That is so cool!" Dew smiled holding the bow.

"I need to go help Eve so Dew if something is happening to you, fire an arrow up into the sky and it will burst showing me where you are and I'll come get you." I said.

I walked out into the open

"Come slowly and don't do anything stupid or I'll kill her!" One of the bandits yelled out.

"Okay let's just calm down." I say raising my hands up

I walked over to them while some of the bandits came over to me and punched me in the guts and pulled my swords away from me. I fell on my knees as one of the bandits kicked me in the face making fall down on my stomach.

"Jayson!" Eve yelled.

"What are you two doing here!" The leader of the bandits asked.

"We were just trying to pass through" I replied

"Well you chose the wrong time to pass through this town. If you want her to live then give us all of your belongings."

"We don't have much but all I have are these swords and the money we have." I said

"Oh well that's too bad. We want more so we'll just be taking your pretty girl with us." He smirked puller her close to his face as she tries to look away in disgust.

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her." I said getting even more angry

"Or what? You can't possibly defeat is all."

"You wanna bet?" I said looking at where each of the bandits were positioned.

"As entertaining as that would be." He says giving the bandits the signal to kill me on the spot.

The bandits pulled out their swords and swung their swords at me but I used my rage ability to make me stronger and faster and caught the two swords. I looked up at the leader showing him the fire in my eyes as they turned more red. I clenched my fists breaking the two swords and throwing the two blades at the bandits behind Eve as they fell down to the ground. I then pulled the two broken swords away from the bandits that were standing next to me and cut slashed their legs and their upper body.

"N-no way. Is that who I think it is?" One of the bandits asked.

"Is that the Berserk Paladin?!" Another bandit yells.

"What's an ex Paladin doing here?"

"I can assure you that this is not the Berserk Paladin. He's been dead for years. How can this be him." The leader says.
