Chapter Twelve A Dark Past: Eve

After the battle I helped Jay get back to his room for him to rest. Dew wanted to go and help Sparky since he reminded her of her father and brother. That just left me and Jay alone in his room again. I wanted to ask him about what we had talked about before we were interrupted but I was afraid to ask.

"You're still curious, aren't you?" He asked.

"A-about what?"

"About what we had talked about before the fight. You have that look in your eyes that you wanted to know more and for me to say something about it."

"O-oh right, well yes but I don't want to force you to tell me either."

"It's okay Eve, I honestly don't mind anymore. I trust you and I shouldn't lie to you. Just... be prepared for what you're going to find in there. Because I know who's inside there. So just be prepared for what you're going to find."

I took a deep breath and placed my hand over his chest and tried to concentrate. Even though Bui and I are both twenty six years old, he and I have similar backgrounds but he still has much more of a painful past. I tried to remember who was with Bui in that picture. A Quilava, Dewott, Pikachu, Pachirisu, Lopunny and a Gardevoir. As I searched his memories, I tried looking passed the death of Jay's friend Jaeger to see what had happened to his friends. Jay had already told me how he got those scars because of his Paladin training, but something felt off about them too. Sparky and Jay also seemed to have a pretty big fight with each other. Something must have happened between them as well. There's just so much to choose from, but which one should I choose first?

I decided to go with Sparky because I am curious on what his story is with Jay. After the death of Jaeger, Jay and his friends went to go and bury him. I stood on the opposite side of Jay and his friends. They were very silent for quite a while. Mary was the first to break the silence.

"Do we know if he had family?"

"Yeah us... He had us and Marcella." Jay said

Sparky started to walk away slowly.

"Sparks where are you going?" Jay asked.

"To go and kill the people who killed Jaeger."

"Killing them isn't going to bring Jaeger back. I don't blame those people either."

"What? What the hell did you say?" Sparky says with anger and turns around and marches up to Jay.

"I said I don't blame the people who are responsible of Jaeger's death Sparky."

I watched Sparky charge up his fists and punch Jay in the face with a thunder punch.

"How can you not blame them?! They killed him Jayson!"

"We were trying to steal money and their resources! We were robbing them and they had every right to use full force that is necessary." Jay yells back as he stands up.

"So you're just gonna let them go and not get revenge?!"

"All we wanted was to have our own land! What is the point of killing them?!"

"What point?! You! How dare you say that! Avenge Jaeger's death! What other reason do we need!"

"Sparky... please stop. You're not making this situation better." Winter says stepping in.

Out of rage Sparky charged at her about to punch her too, but Jay rushed in and pushed Winter out of the way and took out his knife. Dodging his attack and slashing his face. Their friends had urged them both to stop but they were consumed by their anger. Both of them looked as if they were about to wound or maybe even kill each other! They both charged at each other again with full force.
