Chapter Ten A Painful Memory: Eve

It's been 3 days since the attack at Riverwood and Bui still hasn't woken up. I got to know a little bit more about Sparky. Apparently Bui has been traveling for many years and have met wonderful people. However, the stories that Sparky and Bui have shared with me don't seem to line up. It sounds like Sparky has been traveling with Bui and their friends for many years, but when Bui tells his stories it sounds like it was in recent years. I needed to understand Bui's past.

I sat by him as he was still asleep. I took a deep breath and placed my hand over his and held it softly. I closed my eyes and started to concentrate as Bui's memories started to come back. I searched for the memories he has made with his friends from the picture frame I saw on the wall. This is probably wrong but I wanted the truth and to know who Bui actually is. I also wanted to know what happened to his friends and why they aren't together anymore. The first friend I searched for first was his Dewott friend.

The memory showed them running after a cargo in the mountains. They were running to the carriages when suddenly one of the body guards shot a fireball high up against a cliff as it started to come down on Bui and his friend. They were able to dodge most of it but one small rock hit his friend and he fell down. A boulder fell down on his right leg as he tried to get up. Bui turned around and quickly rushed to him. There's so many boulders coming down and so he activated his rage ability and punched the boulders into small pieces.He quickly broke the boulder that was on his friend and picked him up.

He tried running with his friend to safety until a big boulder suddenly started to fall down right on top of them. Without hesitation the Dewott pushed him Bui away as the boulder fell down on his friend and crushed him. There were so many smaller boulders that fell over Bui as it hits him in the head knocking him out. The memory turned dark. I thought the memory was over, until I was able to see through Bui's eyes again. I watched him try to lift up some of the rocks that fell on top of him, but the rocks were too heavy for him. He continued to try to move the debris until he heard someone coughing by him. Bui turned his head to his left and saw his friend Dewott who was also trapped under all the debris.

"Jaeger!!" Bui yells trying to reach his hand out to his friend.

Jaeger looked over and saw Jayson trying to get out of the debris. He looked back down where the rocks was crushing his body. He was able to get one arm free but the rest of his body couldn't move. He was losing a lot of blood.

"Jaeger can you move? Try to crawl over to me." Jayson said.

"It's no use Jay. I can only move one arm, my body is crushed by all this debris. I also feel a lot of pain on my right side. I think a rock shard pierced deep inside my right side. I've lost so much blood, if I move anymore I could bleed even more." Jaeger said as he tried to relax his body and tries to endure the pain.

"Come on Jaeger don't give up now. We can get through this! I'll send a flare for the others to come." Bui said as he tried to push the easy rocks that were more moveable and stuck his hand out.

Bui reached as far as he can out of the debris and started to charge up a power attack. He waited a couple seconds and then fired the flare hoping the others have seen it.

"Jay it's okay. I can barely move my arm that is free. I think this is really gonna happen this time. I've avoided death so many times that I've lost count. Now I think death has finally caught up to me." Jaeger said as he struggled to take off his necklace. "I want you to have this... to remember me."

"Don't you dare say that now. We are going to get out of this together!" Bui yells trying to activate his rage ability but he was too weak from the debris. "Come on work!" He says punching the rocks only to hurt his hand even more.
