I told Dew to quickly grab some of the medicine Bui had in his bag while I check his wounds to see what was wrong. I looked at his cheek that was turning a little purple. I knew what it was, it was poison. I turned his head a bit to see the side of his face more clearly. I poured a little bit of water into his wound and leaned down to his wound and sucked up the poison, water and blood from it and spitting it out. I continued to repeat the process a few more times. After a while I could see his original colors coming back. The poison must have been cleared out. Dew and I tended Bui's wound a bit longer to make sure he was okay.
After we finished I picked Bui up and put him on my back. Bui was a lot heavier than I thought. Dew carried our things while I carried Bui out of the town. I pulled out the map to see if there was another town nearby that could possibly help us. Draven was the next town that we were supposed to go to. But it was still a few ways from here. I did remember that Bui said there was an old friend of his in that town. If I can just get there in time, maybe they can help him. Bui was still unconscious and I'm sure Dew and I did everything we could to make him feel better.
"Eve?" Dew asked.
"Hmm?"
"Will Jay be okay?"
"Bui is very strong, I'm sure he will be fine." I say hoping I'm right.
Hours had passed and we were getting closer to Draven. I decided to take a small break and rest for a bit. I laid Bui down and poured some water over a towel and placed it on his forehead to cool him down. I looked over to see what Dew was doing. She was just staring at her wristband.
"Dew, if you don't mind me asking. What's so special about that wristband?"
"It's supposed to tell me if my family is alive or not." She says holding onto one of the wristbands with a green light on tightly.
I looked over at her other arm that had two wristbands in the red.
"I'm sorry for your loss Dew. You're so young and didn't deserve all this."
"I still have my older brother at least."
"Where is your brother now? I thought he'd be with you during the attack on Riverwood." I asked.
"Well he rarely comes home because of his work. He's the commander of the Paladin army in Celestial."
"What?! Are you serious?"
Dew nodded and giggled.
"Hehe your reaction is just like everyone else."
"I mean it's the Paladin army we are talking about and he was also the commander of the best army in the nation! Did you know that Bui was a Paladin? Maybe he might know your brother?" I said excitedly.
"Jay was a Paladin? But why is he here then?" Dew asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Anyone who becomes a Paladin stays in Celestial. No Paladin ever is to live outside of Celestial. That was part of the Paladin's Oath. They wanted to make sure that none of their information goes out and keep the Paladins safe from any danger outside of Celestial. Which is also why I rarely see my older brother too."
"Bui told me that he fled from the mission and became a mercenary."
"He better hope that he was marked KIA because if he isn't then the Paladins will have to court martial him and possibly hang him in front of the public."
"They will actually kill him?"
"It's part of their Oath. They knew what they were signing up for. Of course his secret is safe with me. I believe my older brother will overlook it too since Jayson did save me."
