A/N: I posted a new Laurminah story if you guys would like to check it out.

Pulling into my driveway I sighed as I rested my head on the steering wheel. Today was absolutely exhausting! Everyone was trying to talk over me and nobody (except for Normani and my assistant Ally) actually listened to me. Today just wasn't a good day and it really fucked up my whole mood for the rest of the day.

Stepping out of the car I grabbed my bag and a few groceries that I decided to pick up and headed inside. The minute I walked inside I knew something was up because Charlie didn't come running towards me to greet me like she always did. Walking into the living room I saw her sitting on the couch with her arm wrapped around herself. "Hey baby how are you?" I asked softly.

Charlie looked at me and shrugged before turning back towards the tv. I frowned because this wasn't like her. Ever since she started talking she has always told me how she was feeling. She never hid how she felt from me and now she is. I don't understand. "Charlie is everything ok?" I asked. She looked up at me with big sad eyes but immediately shut her mouth when Lucy came out.

"Oh ma'am I didn't know you were home." She said.

I hummed "yeah I uh just got home." I told her. Lucy nodded "uh not to be a pain but today is Friday ma'am." She tells me. I nodded as I motioned for us to talk in the kitchen. "Do you know what's wrong with Charlene? I mean I came in and she didn't greet me, I tried talking to her and she was as quiet as a mouse. Do you know what's going on with her?" I asked. Lucy shrugs "maybe she's just growing up." She said as she took the check I had written for her. I frowned "maybe."

After Lucy left I took a seat next to Charlie and looked at her. "Baby can you please tell me what's wrong?" I asked softly. "Did something happen while I was gone?" Charlie nervously looked up at me. She didn't say anything but she did lean into me and snuggled up against me. I frowned but held her close to me. However she did something she has never done before.

She whimpered and flinched away from me. My heart was close to shattering at this point but I needed to be strong. "Charlene I need you to talk to me. Did anything happen while I was gone?" I asked again. Tears fell from her eyes as she looked up at me. "I can't tell. If I do she hurts me again." She said. I was close to losing it. "Who sweetheart? Who's trying to hurt you?" I asked. She whimpered again but shook her head. "I no say."

I took a deep breath as I pulled her close to me and began checking her out. I gasped quietly when I found a few bruises on her back, chest and stomach. "Baby it's just you and I here now please tell me who did this." I begged desperately. Charlie was crying as she held on to her right arms. "Arm hurts." She cried. I picked her up and immediately left the house to go straight to the hospital because I needed to know what was wrong with my child.

On the way to the hospital Dinah was in the back seat with Charlie as she tried to calm her down. I'm so glad Dinah caught us on her way out because I have no idea what I would do to calm her down. I can barely calm myself down right now. I'm so scared.

Pulling into the parking lot I quickly got out and held Charlie in my arms as I rushed inside. "Hi my daughter is complaining that her arm hurts and she has bruises all over her body." I said as I checked in. The receptionist nodded and handed me a chipboard with a paper attached to it to fill out. "Take a seat and someone should be with you." She said. I nodded "ok."

After filling out the paperwork and waiting for a while I was called to the back with Charlene. "So what's exactly is the problem?" The doctor asked me. I sighed as I began telling them everything that I knew. I was giving them as much information about what was going on as I could because unfortunately I didn't know much.
