Waking up the next morning I felt nothing but happiness when I looked over at Dinah who was sleeping right next to me. It's been awhile while since I've been intimidate with anyone but Dinah made last night so special and amazing for our first time. She made me feel safe last night, like nothing or no one could hurt me and that was really amazing of her.

"You're staring."

I chuckled as I gently brushed her hair out of her face. "How can I not? You're beautiful DJ." I said. Gentle brown eyes locked with mine as a wide smile makes its way on her face. "You're too sweet Lo." She whispers. I smiled and kissed her softly. Even the morning after is amazing. Is there anything this girl can't do? Gosh.

After spending five minutes cuddling with each other we finally decided to get up and get ready to leave. Since neither of us had a lot to pack up we were out of there in seconds practically. As we left Dinah grabbed my things and placed them in the trunk of her car before running to my side of the car and opening my door. I thanked her with a kiss to the cheek before getting in. She got in and we were off.

During the car ride back home we did nothing but talk and talk and talk some more. It was like we just got each other, we were comfortable with one another and that felt great! It felt great to have someone who truly gets me without even having to try. I could tell Dinah anything and she just got me and I definitely got her. We were so much alike but so different at the same time and that was what I loved about us. I can really see us making this work.

The minute I walked inside two arms were wrapped around my legs hugging me tightly. "Mama you're home!" Charlie gushed. I giggled as I picked her up and hugged her. "Yes I am baby. Did you have fun with grandma?" I asked. She nodded as she reached out for Dinah who immediately picked her up and kissed her cheek.

"Yeah! And guess what! Grandpa is here!" She gushed happily.

My eyes lit up and without saying anything I ran toward the living where I saw my father. "Dad what brings you here?" I asked as I hugged him. "I wanted to see Charlie before I leave." He said. I tilted my head as I looked up at him. "Leave? Where are you going?" I asked.

He sighed "I have some business to take care of in London and I won't be back until after Christmas." He tells me. I couldn't help but frown at that because I had such huge plans for Christmas. "Aw dad I was really looking forward to seeing you this year." I said. He returns my sad pout as he pulls me in for a tight hug. "I know and I was looking for to it to but I promise once I'm back we'll all spend time together." He said. I smile a little at that and nodded. "Ok."

I was sitting at the island doing some paper work for the office as Andrea cooked dinner for everyone. "Lauren you've been working all day. Maybe you should take a break." She tells me.

Running my fingers through my hair I sighed as I looked over at her. "I would love to but I need to get these done tonight so I know everything for the meeting tomorrow morning." I told her. Walking over to me she moved my laptop away from me before taking a seat next to me. "Honey I know you take your job serious but you need a break! You're about to work yourself to death and none of us want that for you." She tells me. "Take a break Lauren."

Sighing softly I saved what I was doing and closed my laptop. Standing up Charlie came running towards me and hugged my legs. "Mama free now?" She asked. I nodded as I picked her up. "Mama free." I said. "What do you want to do?" She cupped my cheeks in her hands and smushed them together. "Can we go to DeDe's?" She asked. I nodded and told Andrea we were leaving before grabbing a few things and heading next door.

Arriving next door I was about to knock but stopped when I heard yelling coming inside. Telling Charlie to keep quiet I listened closely to what was being said.

"Dinah Jane I just don't understand why you insist on hanging out with that girl and her bastard kid." A voice said.

"Charlie isn't a bastard. She's an amazing kid and so is Lauren. You just have to get to know them Mom." Dinah says.

"I don't want to get to know someone who most likely doesn't know who the father of her child is. She's not someone I want around you she is not good for you." The woman says.

Hearing enough I decided to knock on the door before this conversation got anymore heated. A minute passed before the door opens and there stood Dinah. "Lo what brings you here?" She asked. I smiled "Charlie wanted to hang out with you." I told her. "If that's ok." Dinah smiled immediately as she picks Charlie up. "It's always ok."

Walking inside the women who I recognized as Dinah's mother just glared at me and my daughter. "What are they doing here Dinah Jane?" She asked coldly. Dinah rolled her eyes as she placed Charlie on the floor. "They wanted to hang out and honestly I could use some fun after our talk." She said. Her mother didn't say anything as she looked at my daughter. I could tell by the look on her face that she was going to say something but I didn't know it would be so rude.

"It's ashame the poor girl will never find out who her father is." She says. "It should be a rule that sluts shouldn't have children."

Both Dinah and myself were shocked and appalled by what she said. However before I could defend myself and my children Dinah spoke up.

"Lauren is not a slut! She knows who her child's father is and they were together, in a committed relationship for years before he died." She spits out with such venom at her mother. "Lauren is a wonderful, amazing mother and person. She's caring and kind and just an overall fantastic person that I'm was glad to have ever met." She paused as she glared at her mother. "I love you mom but I will not sit here and let you belittle Lauren just because she has a kid. An amazing kid by the way." She said. "You can leave now."

Her mother looked at her for a second before grabbing her things and heading towards the door. She looked back and shook her head before leaving and slamming the door behind her. Well that was quite intense.
