Chapter3: Secrets Unleashed

"I feel", Joshua and I was still walking around through town. I can't believe I felt so comfortable talking to him. "You feel...", I motioned for him to continue. "I feel like we should get some ice-cream", he said and then pulled me inside the desert shop that we were just about to pass. He bought us both double scooped chocolate ice-cream and we slowly strolled back to the park. We had these long deep conversations but the best part was that he always made me laugh. By the time we got to the park we had both finished our ice-creams. "What?",he asked as we sat down on the grass. "You have ice-cream on your face", I said trying not to laugh. He rubbed his face but it only made it worse. "Let me guess I made it worse." I just nodded and giggled. "Hey", he said and I felt guilty. He looked like a child with chocolate smudges all over his face. I used one of the serviettes they gave with the ice-creams and walked to one of the taps and made the serviette wet. I returned to where Joshua was sitting and started wiping away the chocolate smudges. He then grabbed my hand and wrapped it in his. I was so busy staring into his eyes that I didn't realise that the gap between us became narrower. I could feel his breath on my lips and just before I could close my eyes he pinned me down. I looked up to his face,it was bleeding. He finally stood up, grabbed my arm and started running. "Josh",I tried to get an explanation but he just kept on running. We came to a dead-end,an isolated area where anyone could kill us. I looked back at Joshuas face the cuts were healed. "Come out and show yourself", he yelled. A male figure jumped out from the roof. "Great,Catalya what have you gotten yourself into now again." Then a sword which looked exactly like Leons screeched against the tar of the road. That is because it was Leon. He was so angry. His fangs were out and his eyes locked on Joshua. I tried to run over and explain everything to Leon but Josh stopped me. "Stay behind",he sounds different, there was a growl in his voice and his eyes they were different too. They were the colour red. They started walking closer to each other, and as the gap narrowed between them I became more nervous. Leons sword was still scraping on the tar creating sparks. I closed my eyes I couldn't watch. There was silence, no fighting or battle cries. I opened my eyes and a girl was standing in between them. "Get back ,Rogue",Leon said as the anger filled his voice. "There will be no fighting today", she locked eyes with him. "This became to personal. You messed with my sister I'm afraid I can't just let you walk this time", Leon said looking in my direction. "I would never hurt Lya", Joshua yelled at him. "You don't get to call her that. You are not her friend, you are nothing", Leon yelled back. "Hold on, don't tell me you can't see it...the chemistry between these two ,it's even stronger than what we had", Rogue interfered. "Dont! Not in front of my little sister", he yelled. "You were prepared to kill in front of her. Please just let them be", she begged. "Fine I'll take my sister and go. I'll spare your brother's life". "Thank you", she said. "Just stay away from my sister,both you and your brother", he said locking his eyes on her showing that he is serious. "Lya", he turned his attention to me. "Leon I-" "No need to apologise, let's go", he said. "No, I was trying to say that I wasn't in any danger, really", I assured him. "Lya, they are Night-howlers!,"he said as if he was trying to snap me out of a trance. "What?" I couldn't believe it, was Josh just trying to get close to me because of the CRYSTAL HEART. "I-I opened up to you. How could you?" "Lya I'm sorry I didnt tell you sooner", he apologised. "I cant believe I actually thought you - ",I said then turned and walked away, Leon followed.

We were driving in Leons blue Range Rover. I remembered he bought it just because it was my favourite car. "I'm just grateful that Annabell called", he said breaking the silence. "You know I was just trying to protect you. I can live with that Melissa girl being attacked but I can't live without my baby sister" he said. He was heartless so I felt special that he always cared about me. I said nothing. I know about the story the Night-Howlers attacked her,she had the Crystal Heart before me.I think I was still a baby then. "They killed her in cold blood. They don't have any feelings", he still tried to talk and break my silence. We vampires don't consider others feelings too. What makes us any different."Say something please, I'm dying here." I couldn't help it,I let out a giggle. "Almost there", he leaned closer and then tickled me. "You're driving", I finally talked. "Finally", he said. ",It's not funny",I said crossing my arms. "It is because she actually speaks. I think you deserve a round of applause for that one", he said trying to be funny." Are the Maria pack still there?" "No,they left",he answered." I want to be like their female Alpha one day", I said. "Don't ,please just stay as you are. That women scares me", he said chuckling. "I'm serious. I'm sick and tired of being weak",I said feeling ashamed of myself. "What about you and mom?" "She is getting frustrated because I take so long to get things right", I responded. "Well luckily you have a very,very strong brother who, what do you know happens to be handsome as well", he said cheering me up.
