Chapter 17: Even Odds

Catalya

I gained my sight but I wish I hadn't.  We arrived at the war zone only to witness the love of my life being shot by my own father. I raced over to where he layed.  He was...gone.

My vision became blurry but not because of the pain,  but because my eyes were filled with tears. I could feel them rolling down my cheeks and then dropping onto his face. I wiped them away caressing his cheeks. He was really gone. I looked behind me ,all our friends and my brothers surrounded us. The wolves shapeshifted and began to howl, while Joshuas father dug his head into  the sand.

They weren't close but I could sense the pain oozing  around his body.  I looked at the vampires. There was no emotion. No sign of remorse.  They were just being vampires.

I hated them. I hated myself for being a vampire. I pulled Joshuas head to my chest and cried so hard.

Then my blood ran cold. He didn't deserve this. I could feel my body tremble.  I wanted revenge. "I need you to leave",I said out loud.  "No,we are not-" Annabelle said.

I interrupted her by shooting her a glare. Fear was all over her face. She feared the look in my eyes.

Annabelle

She stared at me, her eyes no longer brown but red. Blood was leaking out. She was practising that spell in her head. "Go",she finally said.

"It didn't matter which son it was it was still a son of yours that killed my son. Now we are even", Count Damon said looking at the broken Alpha of the Night-howlers pack. He turned around attempting to leave the scene.

"We are not",he turned around as he heard his daughters voice. "Because of you my child will grow up without parents!",she yelled. "Ty da camera vas nar dare."

As she started chanting I got everyone to get up. She pulled the arrow out of Joshuas chest. "I place a curse on this forest anyone who enters will face an unescapable curse. It will eat away at you just like the curse of the Crystal Heart has been eating away at me", she said holding the arrow to her chest. Catalya shot Melody a look as a signal. Melody stood up. Then Catalya stabbed herself in the heart and Melody zapped everyone out of the forest. The cavan  was still inside. "What the hell! ?",Julian screamed at Melody. Agonising screams filled the forest. "I just did what Catalya asked me to", she snapped back.

"She would never save werewolves and allow her own kind to suffer ", he yelled.
"The same kind who killed the father of her child", she said.  "Why would she do this. This forest is-" he held his head in his hands.

"I know but there has to be a counter spell. One we will find", Melody assured him.
