courtney was unaware of the plans the boys all around the neighbourhood had for fridays, or how she would be joining them.
courtney sat on her bed, take on me playing softly in the background, in hopes to avoid waking anyone up.
mrs eaton had put a phone in her room so she could call anyone at anytime, and she had decided on calling beverly.
and so she sat, chatting away to her redheaded friend as if they were mere meters away from each other.
"y'know bev, it's not that bad here" courtney spoke quietly, beverly laughing in return.
"yeah okay," beverly giggled from the over end of the phone. "im not there it's basically hell and you know it"
"no honestly, mr and mrs eaton are so nice!" courtney playfully rolled her eyes. "and tommy, i don't like him."
"there's a boy?" beverly practically screamed down the line, causing courtney to erupt into a fit of giggles.
"yes, he's their youngest son" courtney informed her best friend. "he slightly resembles danny from grease, without the annoying hair"
"I like his hair" beverly defended before moving back onto the youngest eaton boy. "so, i'm guessing he's insanely cute"
"he's attractive, but there's just soemthing about him that i dont like" courtney admitted, the opening of her bedroom door interrupting the girls conversation.
"hey courtney, I was wondering if you wanted to come play manhunt with my friends?" tommy asked her, a slight smirk appearing on his face.
"manhunt?" courtney asked curiously, a pink tint rushing to her cheeks.
"say yes!" beverly shouted down the line, encouraging her friend to go out.
"quququ, sorry bev we're breaking up" courtney grinned. "quququq, talk to you later quququ love you! bye!" courtney giggled softly, fully aware that her friend definitely didn't fall for her trick. she glanced up at tommy before putting the phone down and moving it back to its original place on her desk.
tommy let out a quiet laugh, grinning as the brunette now focused her full attention onto him.
"so, manhunt?" she asked curiously, leaning her head against her palm as she flashed him a bright smile.
"it's basically hide and seek in the dark" tommy nodded, smiling fondly at the girl.
"you can hide with me, it'll give you a better chance at winning" tommy smirked proudly as courtney playfully rolled her eyes.
"i could easily win without you," courtney grinned "after all hide and seek is a kids game"
"yeah whatever you say" tommy grinned shaking his head at her. "i'm the champion of manhunt"
"for now." courtney smirked, getting up off of her bed and walking over to the closet.
"i'll be ready in 10 minutes, wait for me downstairs?" she requested, turning to flash him a smile.
"yeah of course" tommy smiled back before dismissing himself.
courtney changed into a new outfit before spritzing herself with her favourite cherry perfume, beverly had gifted it her one christmas.
she slipped a pink hair tie onto her wrist alongside a silver bracelet she had stolen from her mothers jewellery box the day prior to leaving.
courtney quickly adjusted her hair before looking in the mirror, nodding approvingly at her reflection before slipping out of her bedroom door.
