Screams run across the room from terrified people as they scattered across corpses that were lain on the floor, dismembered parts were dispersed on the marble floors of the ballroom. The sight was gory like a scene from a blockbuster intended to appease horror seekers. Alarmed students shifted in a hurry to the exit but slipped on the blooded ground which had become hazardous for those who were desperately trying to reach the exit. The shrieks where deafening as the four girls moved quickly like manufactured mechanical objects to targets close to the exit, those hoping to escape yelped as they were pulled out from the protective cluster circle of students.
"No" Katie Castello screamed as her boyfriend Drew Moore was ripped from her hands and dragged through the width of the room. Blood poured from his shirt from a deep gash to his torso as one of the girls sunk her teeth into his chest nuzzling at his skin, intrusion flesh dripped from the blue formal shirt he wore, his brown eyes suddenly sunken as the remnants of life disappeared from his eyes.
Jasper looked on what are they, vampires? but that didn't exist they were fantasy stories told in the cover of night when huddled up around a campfire. But here he was watching a school massacre. Deadly creatures each sinking their razor-sharp incisors into the hearts of faces he had become familiar with since preschool and he did not know where to look as blood coated the school and a metallic copper smell wafted into the room produced by the blood from all those bodies.
He thought of Ryan at this moment, how he was meant to be the one standing at this spot accepting the crown sharing his speech making the coward cheer and whoop in integration. But in truth, he was glad that he was not here having to watch his friends and teachers being slaughtered to death as each person was surely going to die at this ballroom this night.
Jasper looked around hoping to spot Aria and content that he hadn't, thank god she had the good sense to hide, that she is safe. His heart was at least content in the knowledge that she was safe.
He coward the room scaling it for a weapon he could use for the attack he saw the flagpole of the crescent school crest at a distance and ripped it from its position. Great, he could use this for protection he directed the pointed edge at the girl on his left with the raven hair. She was attacking a group of boys baring her teeth similar to the way a venomous snake would strike its victim, he stood behind her positioning its edge on her back and plunged.
He braced himself for an attack thinking she would turn around and struck him cleanly but she instantly stiffened, he must her struck her in the vertebra at a critical angled point. She shook rhythmically shaking uncontrollably before she collapsed on the floor.
Now there were less of them to kill, he motioned a boy named Thomas St Claire to the pole posed on his right and he nodded with understanding. He needed back-up just in case he didn't make it and trusted the Thomas, a burly blonde young buck who was head of the football division, to contend with he had the strength and ability to assist him with the battle. The muscled athlete grabbed the pole and charred at the red-haired female in the centre feasting on the flesh of some students she had butchered. Thomas knocked the creature down, the same way he would have knocked the opponent team down on the school field and stuck the pole in the middle of her chest. She gave out an icy scream and lay motionless twitching on the ground.
The two boys shared a glance at each other at this point signalling towards the two left at the far entrance. Both angled their poles in anticipation. Just then the blonde he had exchanged words with earlier walked towards Jasper. She was locking eyes with him a blinding silver halo pupil transfixed on him all whilst baring a terrifying smile. She nodded at the brunette who charred towards Thomas. With a possessed unnatural strength, she knocked the pole from Thomas's hand and swang at him, Jasper clung to his weapon and hit her squarely in the face but it was too late. She was quick and had sunk her teeth into Thomas's flesh-ripping into his bones and gnawing at sections of muscle tissue. The boy's scream now echoed the sounds of the screams in the room as he was devoured. Thomas became still a part of his side missing a mess of gushed blood and exposed bones left in the aftermath.
Jasper momentarily stabbed the pole into her skin, the brunette's appearance had been utterly transfigured rough skin encasing her skull. The pretty features there but fitted around pairs large protruding teeth sharp to each point and she became still on top of Thomas. He grabbed Thomas from under the girl's lifeless body dragging him with iron determination, maybe he was alive, hopefully, he was breathing he owed him everything. But Thomas was cold his body was slumped over,half-laying on the cold linoleum floor. Jasper was deeply remorseful if he hadn't indirectly positioned him into the fight, he may still be alive. He looked around now only a handful of students remained in the room an equal combination of crying and screaming almost all the sports team had been injured or killed. He craned his neck to where the blonde had been standing but she had vanished.
He thought back to the day she had sat next to him in a lecture earlier that week. Why couldn't he hold on to the memory now, but her face kept vanishing and reappearing like a flicking switch inside his foggy psyche he couldn't concentrate on her now, something had diverted his attention.
A cascade of auburn hair in the centre of the ballroom. Aria
