Stanley hotel is know to be one of the most haunted places in the world. It was first opened in 1909. The hotel has 420 rooms including ballrooms, dining areas, and underground cave system from the late 19's. The hotel was built on a burial ground and on the 2 floor staircase there is a Vortex where there is a lot of ghost sightings. Mirrors and picture frames are facing directly across from each other creating a vortex. Vortex is a whirlpool of air, water and energy that spins around very fast. This creates a vacuum to pull objects into its empty center and are theorized to be a vehicle to transport spirits from their realm to ours.

Stephen King s was so creeped out that he created The Shining. King stayed in room 217 which soon becoming the most famous room in the hotel. 217 is known as the "haunted" room. Most of the shining was written in room 217.

The 4th floor is were the servants and employees used to stay when working. People say the souls who used to live there like to play around in the halls and hide in the closets. When the lights are out you can hear them laughing and running around. One of the employees stated that "Room 418 seem to have the most ghostly activity reported. In fact, the entire fourth floor of Stanley Hotel is quite active."

Now many of you were wondering if I could find any information on Lucy. Lucy was a young 13 year old girl. People believe she was a runaway who has been squatting (hiding and living) in the Stanley's basement for a long period of time. 3 days before major construction below the concert hall, workers went down to the basement. Not long later they found Lucy and forced her to leave. The weather was bad that night, temperatures dropped below zero, and later she was found dead... frozen by the elements. Many workers and guest who stay at the hotel claim to have seen her roaming the basement. She is normally found peeper her head around furnisher or standing close to someone she has found no threat to her.
