-Darcy’s POV-
As we boarded the plane the only thing I could think about was leaving my older sister, Baillie. I was going to miss her so much. She isn’t just my sister she is also my best friend. I took my seat next to dad. I couldn’t wait to move in with dad. I really wasn’t fond of living with mum. She was never home. She was always out at parties. But even when I say that I will miss her.
Just as I clipped my belt the flight attendant spoke, “Hello, and welcome to Qantas airlines. We hope that your flight is enjoyable and if there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.”
A few minutes after we took off I fell asleep. I must have slept the whole flight because I was woken up by dad.
“Darcy, wake up! We are landing in Melbourne.”
I couldn’t believe it we were almost at our new house! Dad had told me the night before about the house we were moving into. It was fairly new with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Dad had told me that I could pick any bedroom I liked. I can’t wait to see which bedroom I will call my own.
-Half an hour later-
We had landed and collected our bags and now we were pilling into a taxi. It took us around ten minutes to get to the house. It was beautiful. It was a two story house. I collected my bag from dad and ran to the front door. I was so excited. Dad walked up to the door and unlocked the front door. I ran inside as fast as I could. I wanted a bedroom on the second story. As I ran up the stairs, I saw it. I walked into the room. It was amazing. It had plenty of room and outside the glass doors was a balcony. I was lost for words.
Dad came up around a minute later. I turned to face him as I started to speak, “Dad can I hav...” I was cut off by dad.
“Yes Darcy, you can have this bedroom. You better start moving your stuff up.”
I gave dad the biggest hug. This was my dream bedroom. I ran down the stairs and started grabbing boxes of my stuff. I wanted to unpack as soon as possible.
-Two hours later-
I had finished unpacking the last few things when dad walked in with a folder. He handed it to me.
“Darcy, this is all the information you will need to get to know your new school. I’m sure you’ll fit in perfectly!” dad said with the biggest smile on his face
I knew that there was no way I would fit in. I was so scared about starting at a new school but I didn’t let dad know it. I managed to smile in dad’s direction. As he walked out the door I let out a sigh. What is this school going to be like?
