Chapter two: Ahhh, No sleep!

Darcy’s POV

I didn’t sleep much last night. After reading the information for the new school I was scared. I had nightmares all night about all the things that could go wrong. I was just hoping that nothing would go wrong. I had the weekend to get ready for school. I wasn’t looking forward to it.

I walked down stairs and to the kitchen where Jane was cooking pancakes. Yuuuummmmmyyyy!

I asked whilst hugging her “Are they for me?”

Jane just simply answer with “Not just you, your father as well.”

I walked away giggling, “There wont be any left if he doesn’t hurry up!”

I sat down at the dining table. Jane brought in three pancakes for me, four for dad and three for herself. Jane poured me a big glass of orange juice. “Thank you Jane.”

After I had finished eating my pancakes, well it was more like maple syrup with a side of pancakes, I took my orange juice to my bedroom. I decided to pull my phone and txt my close friend Roseanna.

Hey Roseanna, moved into the new house here is Melbourne. It’s amazing! You should see my bedroom, its massive with a balcony! Hope you can come visit soon! Xoxo <3

She text me back almost instantly.

Hey Darcy! I miss you heaps! I can’t wait to come visit you! Send me a photo of your room; I wanna see how amazing it is! Love you. XO <3

I sent here a picture of my room.

Darcy, it huge! You could fit an elephant in there! I have to go to school now! Skype you tonight maybe?! Byee xo

I giggled to myself. Typical Roseanna, I couldn’t fit an elephant in my bedroom. I finished off my orange juice and took the glass down to the kitchen. When I walked through what would soon be the lounge room I saw my baby sister Cody. She smiled at me with her one tooth. I truly love her to bits. She was a little cutie with big green eyes that shined and strawberry blonde hair. She truly looked like my dad. But as for me I look like my mum with big hazel eyes and dark brown almost black hair. Dad tells me I’m a spitting image of her. I know I have the same physical features as mum but I have the personality of dad. I’m glad I’m like dad in that way. We are both incredibly funny and strong-willed people.

I washed up my glass and placed it on the drying rack. Just as I turned around I heard my phone ringing. I sprinted upstairs, almost falling over in the process, grabbed my phone and answered.

“Hello, who is this?”

“Oh hi Darcy, it’s mum.”

I hung up. I didn’t want to talk to mum. I was happy I moved with dad. I didn’t want mum in my life anymore. Anyway I had Jane now.

Mum didn’t try to call back so I decided to go on facebook. Wow! 20 notifications. As I looked I realized they were all notifications from family and friends, wishing me luck here in Melbourne. God I miss them all but I’m sure I’ll make friends here, I hope. That’s when I remember all the nightmares I had last night. School will start in two days and I’m scared. I should make friends, I’m a likeable person. Well at least I think I am. I’ll just have to wait and see.
