Chapter four: Right or Left?!

-Darcy’s POV-

“Luke, it’s not funny. You scared the life outta me!”

“Awww, I’m sorry did I scare little Darcy?” he said in a baby voice.

“Yes, you did. You’re gonna have to make it up to me.”

Next thing I know Luke was hugging me. I was trying not to fan girl. Before I could even speak I felt his soft lips crash into my cheek. I pulled away as fast as I could. I looked at Luke he had a confused yet disappointed look on his face. I wasn’t sure why he had kissed me. I decided the best thing to do was walk away and pretend it never happened, even though I didn’t want to. I really liked Luke but I wasn’t sure if this kiss was friendly or something more. I didn’t want to get my hopes up that it was something more so I didn’t ask. I continued walking with Luke following me.

-Luke’s POV-

I didn’t know what to say after she pulled away. She looked just as confused as I did. I could see in her eyes that she wasn’t sure if the kiss meant something more. She continued to walk and I followed. I wanted to tell her that the kiss meant something more to me but I couldn’t find the words. Silence took over fast with neither of us talking. When we reached what seemed to be Darcy’s house I waited for her to talk. She finally spoke.

“So…I’ll, um, see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, I suppose.”

She walked up to her front door, turned around and gave a little wave and with that she was gone.

-Darcy’s POV-

We didn’t talk the entire way home. When we reached my house Luke didn’t speak. He just stood there. I decided to break the silence.

“So…I’ll, um, see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, I suppose.”

I didn’t want to stay any longer incase he wanted to talk about what had happened so I walked up my front door, turned and waved at him and went inside.

“Hey Darcy, how was your day?” I heard Jane yell from what must have been the kitchen.

“Yeah, it was fine. I have some homework to do. See you at dinner.”

I walked straight to my room. I closed the door, put my bag down and fell backwards onto my bed. I had to process everything that had happened today. Getting knocked over. Luke helping me up. Talking about my life. Meeting Olivia. And lastly Luke kissing me on the cheek. I opened up my laptop and logged into Facebook and Twitter. Facebook wasn’t too exciting. Just your usual best friend’s selfie and some status updates. I closed Facebook and went to Twitter instead. It was the same as usual. One Direction had tweeted, my friends had tweeted and the Janoskians had tweeted. I refreshed the page to see if there were any new tweets and then that’s when I found it. Luke had tweeted, it read;

Meet this really sweet girl at school today. I hope she knows why I did what I did.

I knew exactly what he was tweeting about, the kiss. I had to talk to him about it. Find out what it meant. I knew what it meant to me but did it mean the same to him?

-Luke’s POV-

I didn’t have her number and I wasn’t friends with her on Facebook so I couldn’t tell her what I meant by the kiss. I knew that basically every teenage girl has twitter so I made a tweet hoping she would read it and talk to me about it. The tweet read; Meet this really sweet girl at school today. I hope she knows why I did what I did.

I hope she did read it because I really wanted to know if it meant something to her. I know I’ve known this girl for a day but I know I was meant to meet her. She was perfect in everyway. My twin brother Jai must have seen the tweet because he came bursting into our bedroom.

“Who’s the girl you’re tweeting about, do I know her?” he yelled at me.

“Yes Jai, you know her. Her name is Darcy.”

“Wait, I don’t know any girl named Darcy.”

“Oh trust me you do. You knocked her over today when you were running away from Beau. I had to help up whilst you kept running.”

He looked at me in disbelief.

“Oh, I didn’t realize I had knocked her down.”

“Well you did and now because I had to help her up I’ve ha one of the most confusing days of my life!”

I must have yelled because Jai looked scared. I was lucky that Beau wasn’t home. If he was this would turn into an argument.

“Luke, do you want to talk about it?”

I really didn’t want to but if there was one person who would listen it would be Jai.

“Well you already know how I meet Darcy so I’ll go from there. She was lost so I had to walk her to class. She told me about how she ended up going to our school and everything. After school I decided I wanted to walk home with her, get to know her a little. I ran up behind her and scared her pretty bad. She told me I had to make it up to her so… I did the weirdest thing, but it felt right. I hugged her as tight as possible and then kissed her on the cheek. She pulled away and we didn’t know what to do.”

Jai had been listening the entire time and looked extremely confused.

“Ah, mate that’s tough. I say talk to her about it. Make sure that it meant the same to both of you.”

I smiled at him.

“Thanks, I’ll try too.”

Jai left the room without having to say anything else. Tomorrow I seriously had to talk to her about it. I guess it wont be that bad, will it? I went to have dinner with mum, Beau and Jai. I’m glad that I can trust Jai. He didn’t mention what we had talked about to mum or Beau. I finished up dinner and went to bed. I planned to talk to Darcy before we got to school so I had to get up early to walk to her house. As I fell off to sleep I couldn’t stop thinking about her pretty face or her beautiful eyes. Darcy was the perfect girl for me. I promised myself that if the kiss meant something more to her I would take things slow and not rush into it, like I had today. I couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking about the kiss.
