Michonne

I grabbed my keys out of the ignition of my car and sighed before I opened the door.

Alright, Michonne. In and out.

I exited my car and made my way into the detention facility. When I entered, I was met with a thick plastic barrier and a blonde petite woman behind it.

"Hello ma'am," she greeted me with a calm tone, almost monotone. I gave her a nod before responding.

"Hey, how are you?"

There was a brief pause before I spoke again.

"I'm here for a visit," I looked down as I played with my fingers a little.

"Last name?"

I nodded. "Anthony."

She stopped and looked down through a few papers before looking back up at me.

"Michael?"

"Yes,"

She nodded. "Follow this young man here."

She pointed to a tall, brown skinned man wearing a brown and beige uniform. He opened a metal plated door and guided me through a long hallway into a large room, full of inmates and relatives.

"Fifteen minutes," he said as he led me toward the table where Mike sat, lonely.

"Won't even take that long," I mumbled before apprehensively sitting across from him.

He looked up at me with tears in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, 'Chonne. I—"

"Michonne."

He nodded slowly. "Michonne," he corrected himself, "You didn't bring Dre?"

"Obviously not," I frowned, "He wouldn't have wanted to come anyways."

He paused for a minute before speaking again.

"Tell him Daddy misses him and he'll see him soon."

I scoffed. "Considering the fact that he's at home with his father right now, that wouldn't make much sense would it? No one knows I'm here Michael. No one's gonna know that I'm here, either."

I saw him focusing on something that wasn't my face. I followed his eyes and realized that he was looking at my ring. He spoke again, completely ignoring my prior statement.

"So it's official, huh? I lost you for real this time?"

I shook my head in disapproval. "Michael, you called me here, right? But you're not getting to the point. What do you want from me?"

"He may have put a ring on your finger, but it won't last long. You wanna know why? Because I called out to you for help and you still came here to give it to me. You're still mine, and Dre is too. You can run all you want. I'll only be here for six months."

I rose from my seat. "I'm gonna go now," I began making my way toward the door before he grabbed my arm.

"You can't leave yet," he whined, gripping my arm harder than before. I winced before he let go, now grabbing my waist. By now, guards began pouring in because of the commotion and separated us. As they pulled us apart, he took his nails, reached under my shirt, and dug them into my skin. I cried out as I quickly reached for my side. I pulled my hand back up to see that he'd broken skin and drew blood.

By now, the guards who'd poured in to stop the chaos were cuffing him and taking him back to wherever he'd initially come from. And it was in this moment that I began regretting my decision to even come and visit.
