Rick

"So at this point, all that I need from the two of you is your signatures and today's date and then we're all good to go."

I skimmed the document that was placed before Michonne and I, looking at Michonne in between. She did the same.

"What's today's date?"

She looked at me.

"August 17th."

She signed first and then I did. I looked at her and smiled.

"Alright, guys. You're all good to go. Unless you guys have any more questions?"

I nodded. "What about Michael? Since he's on house arrest?"

"I've had some time to ask the judge what could possibly be done in regards to that and sadly, Andre will still have to visit his father as you guys had initially arranged. The good news is that it is only on every other Friday and Saturday and the visits have to be supervised by either you or Michonne."

Michonne let out a sigh of relief before nodding. "Thank you."

"Come on, baby. We gotta go shopping for uniforms today. Somebody's going to the first grade soon!" Michonne grabbed her keys in her left hand and one of Andre's hands in her right.

"Carl, we're leaving! Watch over the girls for us until your grandparents get back!"

He dashed down the stairs before we got a chance to leave.

"Will do, Dad. Can you pick up a pizza though?"

I shook my head with a chuckle.

"Sure. Pepperoni and ham?"

"You got it. Thanks, guys. See you soon."

We left, locking the door behind us. Michonne lifted Andre up into his car seat and buckled him in. She got into the driver's seat and I got into the passenger's seat. The uniform store is only a five minute or so drive from my parents' house, so it wasn't long before we arrived.

"Come on, Dre," Michonne called out to a sleeping Andre.

When we got out of the car, I went over to his side and got him out of the car.

We went into the store and began looking for things that accommodated his new school's uniform requirements. He tried on shirts, pants, and shoes until all three of us were satisfied. Michonne picked up a few pairs of pants, shirts, and shoes that Andre liked. The cashier quickly rung up the things we'd picked out.

"Okay, guys. That'll be $213.23. Cash or credit?"

Michonne opened her mouth to speak but I responded before she could.

"Credit."

She looked at me. "Rick, you don't have to-"

"Yeah, I do. He's just as much my son as he is yours."

I gave the cashier my credit card for her to swipe it.

"Thank you. Here's your receipt."

She gave me the receipt and my credit card back with a smile. Michonne grabbed the bag with a smile.

"Thank you, ma'am. Have a great day."

"Thank you, ma'am. You guys, too."

I nodded as we all made our way out of the store.

I put Andre into the car and then got in. When we were all in the car, Michonne spoke.

"Thank you, Rick. I appreciate you."
