"Here face to face, and we both know the truth

You're calling my bluff, I can't lie like you do.

Wish I could tell you that I love you but I can't.

Wish I could call you in the morning but I can't .

Wish I could tell you that I miss you but I can't."

-This is Not A Love Song by bulow

Arica's mind was in overdrive. The conflicting emotions she felt prevented her from making any rational decision. One side of her brain was loving the sparks the stranger emitted and was turned on by the stranger- ready to delve into sin. The other side of her was screaming at her to get away from this man and run as fast as possible. She had never thought that she would ever have a mate, it was rare for humans to have mates after all. Moreover, having a mate from Crawfort would mean that she would have to move here, as dictated by The Council, which would mean leaving behind her growing business, that she worked rigorously for three years. She couldn't do that, she'd come too far and sacrificed too much for it.

She felt the rational side of her taking over. After gathering enough strength she said,"Get off me right now, or you'll be liable to be punished by The Council." She was using her firm, no-nonsense-boss voice. She had to use it on her employees sometimes when they took a lot of days off and still demanded the perfect paycheck. It was one of the things she had picked up from "Boss Baby", thanks to Sarah. She was hoping it worked, she didn't have any other way to get out of this situation.

Why isn't the Beta here yet? They shouldn't let their guests out of their sight for long. Moreover, she had been gone for more than five minutes. She was disappointed in Crawfort now.

Her words seemed to have broken the strangely attractive man out of his reverie. He took a step away from her and released her hands, but his eyes were still fixated on her.

This was her chance, her chance to get away from this unwanted mate. Arica made a split-second and ran for the sliding glass doors that she came through.

Her heels, as expected, didn't help her run on the grass. But surprisingly, she made it to the glass doors inside before her "mate" could catch up to her. She shut the glass doors behind her frantically, breathing heavily.

This guy can't enter the Alpha Manor.

That was the sole reason she decided to run back here. Only residents of Alpha Manor and invite only people could enter the Alpha Manor of the pack. Arica felt that she was safe from her  "mate" here. She still couldn't wrap her mind around it. She should never have wandered out of the Alpha Manor. The feeling of regret started to seep into her mind.

She decided to sit down, calm the shit down and breathe normally. Come on girl,  you run a company of  two hundred employees over the First Continent!  There's no reason to be riled up  because of one "mate."

She couldn't let this mate ruin her career and everything that she's worked hard for. The sooner she was out of Crawfort, the better. All she had to do was perform the service for the Alpha. She couldn't leave without performing the service, or else Crawfort could take this as a sign of disrespect and attack Noartus! Arica wouldn't and couldn't dream of harming her pack.
