It was two days later, and Taehyung was strong enough to take himself to the bathroom, go downstairs to eat and stay awake for more than six hours at a time. Officer Jeon thought that he was healthy enough for them not to take him back to the hospital.

The problem was that Jungkook had classes to attend and Junghyun and their parents had work, so there would be no one there to take care of Taehyung.

“What do you think we should do?” Mr Jeon asked everyone as they sat at the dinner table. Taehyung had decided to join the Jeon family for dinner, but he had been served a less spicy meal as not to upset his stomach.

“I don’t mind staying here alone, you have already done so much. I wouldn’t want to take you away from your daily life.” Taehyung said as he picked at his food. He always felt bad when they were nice to him despite not knowing what he had done.

“Don’t be stupid Tae. We don’t want you to be here all by yourself until you are fully recovered.” Jungkook said, flashing Taehyung his bunny teeth.

“Jungkook is right. We like having you around.” Mrs Jeon agreed.

“I’ll talk to the guys at work to see if I can get some hours of this week.” Junghyun offered.

“Yeah, I’m sure I can also come home during the day.” Jungkook said excitedly.

“I could switch to a night shift for two d-” Mr Jeon’s phone rang before he could finish his sentence. He stood up and went to answer it, before, “Taehyung, there is someone on the phone for you.”

Taehyung felt his blood turn to ice. A chill of fear went down his spine as he stood up and went to where Mr Jeon was standing.

He took the phone out of Mr Jeon’s hand and waited until the older man was out of earshot before putting the phone against him ear.

“H-hello?” Taehyung’s voice came out more shakily than he intended it to.

“Hey, Tae, it’s Yoongi.” The voice on the other end said. Taehyung felt relief wash through his body and felt himself relax.

“Hey, Yoongs. I tried reaching you.”

“I know. I got to in the zone and Hobi had to remind me to eat and sleep and charge my phone.” Yoongi laughed on the other end of the phone. It was like Yoongi to forget about the world around him when he got too into his music. “Why did you call from a police officer’s phone? Why are you in Busan?”

“I can’t tell you over the phone, but something happened with father.” Taehyung whispered, as if scared something might attack him.

“Oh, I heard, Hobi told me. The police were looking for you but stopped after your siblings said you didn’t do it.” Yoongi said trying to lighten the mood.

“Are they okay?” Taehyung felt bad that he only cared about himself and not his younger siblings, even though he also did it for them.

“Yeah, they are staying with your aunt until the funeral. Are you going to go to the funeral?”

“No.”

“Oh, okay.” Yoongi sighed, he didn’t know why he asked in the first place.

“Can you come and pick me up?”
