she was petrified. her eyes ever so wide and her body ever so frozen in place, never in her life did she think she would see something like this. like him.
so, what they said in the news was actually accurate; an animal had done this. but how we find a wild animal... in the middle of city? every one questioned so. impossible. must be just another murder case they're letting off the loose.
but indeed, the person, was also human.
by some coincidence, lisa remembers their eyes. the way they looked in the dark and as they looked up startled by the gasp she left and the small step she took back, the creature had daunting eyes that narrowed in comparison to the female's despairing ones.
she couldn't bring herself to move, her mind was screaming at herself to do so, yet her nerves completely stopped working altogether asides from having her tremble in her own cowardliness.
she could scream — she should scream, and yet, all that happened was a buckle of her knees and her body dropping to the ground. cold sweat dropped down the back of her nape, furiously and continuously.
it got closer and closer to her, like a predator to its injured prey, snarling and showing its teeth that were heavily tainted with blood, and even having its saliva drip by the said with the thick, red fluid.
as it got close to her, right in front of her, lisa was prepare to open her mouth but then, her lips were left parted as the creature — the wolf, stopped.
she didn't know what it do.
but its mouth closed, the wrinkles of rage and threat around his nose soften and his eyes were now more clearer. she could see herself within them. and how familiar, did they look.
it fixates it's stare down to her hand, that were originally holding onto the plastic bags from the grocery store before looking back up again. it turns around and runs away. leaving a terrified, yet relieved girl and a decaying body.
lisa saw as it ran towards the end of the alleyway, turning and disappearing into the night to get lost from sight. the first thing she did after gaining back control of her senses, was to get a hold of her phone and call the police and the ambulance.
it took some time for them to arrive, and even when they asked her questions, they knew it was futile given all she could do was tremble and murmur over and over to every single question they asked, "I saw it, I saw a wolf."
hours and hours, that had been how long it took until they finally decided to release her and give her a ride home.
and sitting just in front of the door, was a figure and when it stood up as it took notice of lisa, she started to bawl her eyes out as her own body cake into contact with it when their arms made their way around one another.
"is everything okay?" he asked while kissing the crown of her head, lisa shook her head and gripped tightly onto him, almost as if to have reassurance that he would keep holding onto her.
"I was so scared, yukhei, it was right in front of me." she cried and hid her face further into his shoulder while sobbing. "I saw him eating someone... it was so, so terrifying because I thought I would be next when he saw me."
"what happened?"
"... he didn't..." she slowly pulled away and looked up, peering into yukhei's eyes and the female couldn't help but lose her breathe.
