Sakura opened her eyes to a mint green ceiling. She opened her mouth to speak but knew immediately that she couldn't because of how dry her throat was. She exhaled through her nose. She tried sitting up, her mid section screamed in protest. She winced. She tried until tears ran freely from her eyes. So she gave up and lay back, panting. Even breathing seemed like somebody was pouring acid over her midsection. The door opened, and Sakura looked towards it. Tsunade entered, took one look at Sakura, and with a shake of her head she helped her sit up.

"Here, you idiot girl." The older woman said in an exasperated tone before she handed over a cold glass of water. Sakura grinned at her teacher and took a long drink of the water that had her parched throat singing.

"Arigato." She murmured. Tsunade waved away her thanks before giving her a full check up.
"Alright you're good to go, but there will be some residual bruising and tender spots which is why I'm assigning you three days home to recover. The only reason you're to be in the hospital is if you've been given a "fully recovered" status or Itachi stabbed you in your sleep."

Sakura drew a blank on that last one.
"Why would Itachi stab me in my sleep?" She asked, extremely confused.
"Because he'll be living with you of course." Tsunade answered as if it was obvious.

"Oh." Sakura said, then it really clicked in her mind what Lady Tsunade said.
"Wait what?!" She shrieked.
Lady Tsunade grinned.
"Oh, didn't I tell you? Itachi's going to be living with you. I split the akatsuki into one on one pairs with the Konoha 12."

"So, you put your precious, sweet, innocent-" A snort from Tsunade "-student as a shield against the most obstinate, revenge driven idiot aside from Naruto she's ever known? Not to mention that said idiot remembers her punting him through a wall and somehow still considers her a weakling? Is that what you want for me Tsunade-sama? Death? Is that it?" Sakura teared up. Tsunade laughed out loud.
"Save the tears. They won't work on me. Decision is final." She chuckled. Sakura sighed.
"Dammit." She muttered.

Lady Tsunade chuckled again as she exited the room to come back with a pair of crutches.
"Here, you're gonna need these for a while." She said as she braced them against a wall and helped Sakura to dress.
"Arigato Tsunade-sama." Sakura grinned.
"You're welcome squirt."
Sakura grabbed the two crutches and began the awkward wobble out of the room, Tsunade by her side.

Sakura looked up to see Itachi sitting on a bench in the hallway. Sakura inhaled quietly.
Boy were these Uchiha men pretty.

Itachi turned his head as he spotted the two women walking toward him. He stood up.
Sakura noticed that he did not have his Akatsuki cloak with him. She noticed that he was lean but muscular, his hair long enough to reach past his broad shoulders, was in a low ponytail. Sakura studied his face.
Of course he was Uchiha handsome, but his eyes, they were old, and the age lines on his face indicated he was stressed for a very long time.
Sakura could only guess what he was feeling at the moment.
She remembered he was five years older than them. He was twenty-six years old. And suffering horribly. Sakura could tell by how he held himself so tensely.
