I have had a couple conversations lately from people who have not been active at the Pub for a while. We all understand that life gets in the way on many occasions. School, family matters and health issues are part of life and can easily divert your attention to these important matters of life.
But I was rather disappointed by a couple comments that I received. It seems that several people are no longer active because they have not won a competition.
People!!!!!!
That is not what the Poets Pub is all about.
It is not about the winning. They are no trophies or cash prizes. Just the acknowledgement that you have done well and the admiration of your fellow Pubbers.
The competitions we have are all about participation. It is about being a part of a family of Poets who get together and present their latest attempts at Poetry. It is about challenging yourself to be better and inspiring others to do the same.
