27 | ducks look so peaceful

Jaemin and Donghyuck walked to the park which was pretty empty.

"Donghyuck. I know something is up. What's wrong," Jaemin said.

"I got separated from someone is all and I miss them," Donghyuck said trying his best not cry.

"Oh ok," Jaemin said not asking no more questions. He didn't want Donghyuck to burst into tears.

"Let's try to have a good day alright," Donghyuck said wiping away the one tear that had escaped his eye.

"See! That's the spirit!" Jaemin said a bit too excited for Donghyuck. Donghyuck let out a soft giggle.

"Maybe I can confess my feelings to Donghyuck," Jaemin thought.

They walk by the pond and look at all the ducks.

"Ducks look so peaceful," Jaemin said. Donghyuck simply nodded. He still had a gloomy face.

"So... what do you think about my mom making us get married," Donghyuck said. Jaemin looked at Donghyuck.

He didn't know what to say. He wanted to say he's happy about getting married with him.

"It's kind of weird. We still don't know much about each other," Jaemin let out an awkward giggle.

"Yea. Just so you know. I'm against what my mother is trying to do," Donghyuck said.

"Why?" Jaemin asked.

"I just think we're a bit too young to be getting married," Donghyuck said. That was a lie. If Donghyuck was able to get married with Mark, he would do it in a split second.

"I guess you're right," Jaemin said.

They continued their little date. Well that's what Jaemin thought of it as. Donghyuck on the other hand didn't.

He clearly didn't see Jaemin in any romantic way. He just liked him as his friend.

"Jaemin?" Donghyuck suddenly asked.

"Yea?" Jaemin replied.

"If you don't want to get married with me. I get it. I don't want to get married either," Donghyuck said.

For whatever reason it made Jaemin's heart sink. Just from Donghyuck say that he assumed that he didn't like him.

"Do you not like me?" Jaemin asked.

"I do. It's just I only see you as my friend. I think it's weird," Donghyuck said.

Jaemin just slowly nodded his head while his heart was slowly shattering.

"Donghyuck-," Jaemin was about to confess but Donghyuck interrupted him.

"Jaemin. I didn't plan on marrying you. I don't plan on getting married with you. I want to be with someone else. I'd be more happy with him," Donghyuck said as he looked down.

"Oh ok," Jaemin said. They both sat down near the pond with ducks.

"Jaemin. I'm going to trust you with all my heart," Donghyuck said. Jaemin simply nodded his head.

"I want to get married with Mark. I love him so much but I can't be with him," Donghyuck said.

"Mark? As in Hades son?" Jaemin asked. Donghyuck nodded his head.

"You like him?" Jaemin asked.

"Well of course. I love him, he's my boyfriend," Donghyuck said looking at his feet thinking about Mark.

"Boyfriend?" Jaemin said. Which broke his heart even more.

"Yep. We started dating and then the day after we got separated," Donghyuck said.

"Donghyuck. I need to say this now or never but I like you," Jaemin said.

"You like me?" Donghyuck asked still looking down at his feet.

"Yea. I guess I started having feelings for you," Jaemin said with an awkward chuckle.

"I'm sorry Jaemin. I don't see you the same way," Donghyuck said.

"I know," Jaemin replied. Like that there was awkward silence. They didn't speak for about a 5 minutes.

They just sat there looking around at the ducks.

"I mean you really can't do anything about it though. We're gonna get married," Jaemin mumbled but Donghyuck was able to hear him.

Donghyuck widened his eyes. Tears started falling down his face. He was trying to hold back his tears.

"Jaemin. You're a great guy. I want you to get married with someone who really loves you. I just don't think I'm the one for you," Donghyuck quietly said.

"If I wasn't the one then your mom wouldn't want us to get married," Jaemin said.

Donghyuck broke down in tears. He started to cry a lot more.

"No! My mom wants me to get married with you because she didn't want me to be with Mark! Just because he's Hades son. She didn't want our side to combine!" Donghyuck cried.

Jaemin just remained silent.

"I'm sorry Jaemin. I didn't plan on getting married with you," Donghyuck cried one last time. He got up and ran away.

Jaemin just sat there and sighed.

"I messed up. I'm such an idiot," Jaemin said.

There wasn't anything he could do. He just got rejected by someone he's gonna end up marrying anyways.

The chapter was originally gonna be called " I don't plan on getting married with you" but I changed it to this one bc the other title would be too obvious. Also early update!
