Mindy- Date Night

Andy's POV

I've been sitting in this stupid restaurant for half an hour waiting for my ass of a boyfriend. He's been the worst person I've known for over a year. He shouts at me all the time and isn't very nice but I'm too scared to break up with him. He still hasn't showed up to our date.

*1 hour later*

I'm still sitting here an hour later. I should have left ages ago. Waiters and waitresses have asked me over and over if I was ordering and I kept saying that I was waiting on someone. I'm so pathetic, I need to break up with him.

I stood up, getting ready to leave, but before I could stand up a man sat down at the table. I've never seen him before. He grabbed my hand across the table and said 'I'm so sorry for being late babe, traffic coming from work was terrible.' The waiter came over again, I knew he was eavesdropping on what the stranger sat across from me was saying, then he finally took our orders.

'I'm Mikey by the way, sorry for sitting with you but your date seemed to not be showing and you looked embarrassed,' the stranger, now known as Mikey, said. 'Thank you. Now I don't look stupid like I have for the past hour and a half.' I said, laughing at the end. Our food came and me and Mikey talked all through our meal. No awkward tension at all.

At the end of the night Mikey paid for both our meals, even though I fought him on it. When we got outside Mikey asked for my number, so we swapped phones and entered our numbers into them. 'Thank you for saving me tonight,' I said, handing him his phone back. 'Would you like to meet again sometime?' Mikey asked. I nodded my head and he gave me a hug, then we went our separate ways.

When I got home I received a text from Mikey saying, 'Your boyfriend is an ass for leaving you there by yourself.' I smiled and texted back a quick 'I know.' Then I went onto my contacts and rung my boyfriend. I told him it wasn't working and I broke up with him. Blocking his number and and social media's.

'I dumped him,' I texted Mikey. 'Now I can take you on a real date,' he replied.
