Ever since the VKs first arrived, Mal always found her thoughts wandering off to Ben, no matter how much she loathed it. She always found herself noticing the small things that Ben does. However, she's been noticing him always taking glances at (Y/N), not even trying to hide his obvious liking of the girl. Somehow, that caused Mal great anger, not just for selfish reasons, but she also needed to have a chance with him in order to make the plan run smoothly. What makes it worse, is that (Y/N) never seemed to notice Ben's obvious affection towards her, which had just angered Mal even more.

Mal originally thought of casting a love spell on Ben, but quickly realized that wouldn't work, as the spell she had wanted to use only worked on those who don't feel strongly about another. Also, she had already tried that and he was livid afterwards. Plus, people would instantly be suspicious. She couldn't have a puny princess get in the way of impressing her mother, which is why taking action was vital. It had absolutely nothing to do with her own feelings, right?

"Okay, Ben. You can do this! You're only facing your doom by inevitably being rejected by your long-term three-year crush--dangit!" Ben ranted to himself, pacing around the room with flowers in his hand, trying once again to confess to (Y/N). A gentle knock sounded, as he looked up in terror, recognizing that knock. He frantically tried to hide the flowers underneath his bed, second-guessing himself. He called out to his dream-girl on the other side of the door, "Come in!" The door opened with (Y/N) following.

"Hey, Ben! I just came here to ask about some adjustments for your coronation-" (Y/N) started, only to get cut off by Ben.

"I have something to tell you" He sputtered out quickly, avoiding her enchanting eyes.
"Oh?" She replied, looking curious. It was out of character for him to ever cut someone off, let alone for him to panic with unprofessionalism whilst speaking.

There was a quiet whispering sound, but Ben thought nothing of it as he was occupied with trying to form a coherent sentence. "I-" Ben attempted, but got cut off from (Y/N)'s eyes drooping, followed by her dropping to the floor.

"(Y/N)!" He panicked, dropping down to the floor to check on her. "Who did this? Show yourself!" He screamed in rage, his relation to The Beast shining through. Mal flinched sightly, she had never heard Ben use a tone of voice other than his usual princely one. Nevertheless, she had to follow through with her plan, as she was rotten to the core.

"Ben? What's going on?" She ran in frantically, gasping at the scene in front of her. She swept over to (Y/N)'s side, parallel to Ben.

"I-I don't know, she just-just collapsed!" Ben stuttered, panicking over the one he loved. "D-do you know what's wrong with her? You know magic! Will she be okay? Oh my gosh, please let her be okay."

"I don't know. I think we'll have to take her to Carlos, he'll know what to do." Mal responded to his worries, going to scoop up (Y/N)'s unconscious body. Ben quickly retorted by pulling her body back down to him, holding her protectively.

"It's not that I don't trust you and your friends, I mean, I brought you guys here, b-but," a stutter broke through his more composed facade, "I'd rather take her to Fairy Godmother." A realization seemed to break his composed facade. "W-what if it's a curse from an evil person, what if she'll never wake up? Oh my gosh no, please no!" Ben returned to a panicked state, as Mal let a little trickle of guilt flood into her.

"That won't happen, she'll be safe. For now, we'll just take her to Fairy Godmother as you requested." Mal assured, blocking out any emotion from seeping through.

The journey to Fairy Godmother was silent, as they walked side-by-side, Ben refusing to let (Y/N) out of his grasp.

Once they arrived to Fairy Godmother, she quickly took (Y/N) from Ben's arms despite his protest and insisted on them waiting outside her office while she inspected (Y/N)'s conditions.

Mal and Ben were currently sitting in silence, with Ben's thoughts running faster than a cheetah. "Hey," Mal started, turning to Ben. She saw the opportunity to strike and decided to take it. "It's okay, she'll be just fine. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you." She said supportively, rubbing his back. Ben took full advantage of her offer and was now weeping into her shoulder, murmuring incoherently.

"I-its just not fair. What did she ever do to the world? She's the most kind, beautiful, wonderful, talented, intelligent soul I've ever met. She's never done anything wrong for her to be affected by this.

"Hey," Mal attempted to bring some relief to the stress Ben has had, "At least you hid the flowers in time"

"Yeah-" A dawn of realization occurred, causing him to shoot straight back up to an upright position. "How do you know that? How did you even know to come in when my love fell? My floor is carpeted!" Ben started to shake, standing up.

"I-" Mal made an attempt to defend herself, but didn't get the chance to.

"You knew! How could you! I trusted you- I-" He paused, now firing a glare at her. "Leave. Now."

     "But Ben, I-"

     "LEAVE!" He roared, fist clenching.

Her head dipped down in defeat as she left the area; leaving Ben alone with his worries about the person who he had planned on one-day marrying.
