this is a request, a very late one, sorry! Thanks to 2_many_fand0ms for requesting. "Carlos has nightmares about the Isle." I couldn't find a way to incorporate the readers gender into this, so I have just made the reader gender neutral as their gender does not affect the story in any way. So sorry if that's disappointing, but I didn't want to use gender stereotypes!

"Bring me the puppies!"

"Evil will reign supreme!"

"Puppies are evil, Carlos."

"You'll always be evil, Carlos. You know that."

He dashed about the streets of the Isle, desperately trying to escape the voices. But they wouldn't stop, they endlessly tormented him no matter how far he travelled. He knocked down carts, people, children, more and more as he became increasingly irrational. The people glared at him angrily for causing such destruction, but he couldn't focus on that. Not when the voices were tormenting him.

He stopped in his tracks, realizing there was no point. The voices weren't getting any quieter. Crumpling down on the ground, he hid his head beneath his arms, hoping to block out the noise. It only got louder, though. The constant reminder of his evil past, that he would always be a villain echoed throughout his mind.

A familiar voice sounded, he looked up and saw you. For a minute, his spirits were lifted. Maybe he wasn't doomed. Maybe you'd come to save him! He kept forward, only to be pushed back by an invisible force. The voices cackled, taunting his weakness and stupidity. He looked up and his heart crushed, seeing you laughing along with the voices, only to disappear.

"You really think I'd ever care about you? You're nothing but a stuck-up jerk who only cares about himself. I never cared about you, and I never willl.

He broke down in tears, squeezing his eyes shut. This couldn't be happening. No. Why'd life come to this, he was doing fine in Auradon. Please no.

The voices only chanted louder in response to his mental pleas. They mocked his name, chanting it louder and louder.

"Carlos.."

"Carlos....."

"CARLOS!"

"CARLOS!? Carlos are you okay? You're scaring me, please wake up." You shook him roughly, feeling a knot begin to form in the back of your throat. Carlos' eyes steadily opened, sensitive to the light. He caught sight of you and let out a breath of relief.

He instantly pulled you down into him, snuggling you closely to his chest. He squeezed his eyes shut, taking in his senses. He was okay. He was in bed, snuggling with you, in Auradon. His past was trapped in the Isle, unable to harm him. He was okay and with you.

"It was only a dream, Carlos, shh. You're okay and here with me." You soothingly murmurred into him, stroking his hair lightly. He leaned into your touch, relishing in the physical affection. He loved it when you played with his hair.

"It was scary," he whispered vulnerably, clutching onto you tighter as he mentally recalled memories the dream. "I was back on the Isle, and, and." He took a moment, tears threatening to spill out."

After a moment, he continued. "These voices were chasing me, taunting me. They were taunting evil things. They reminded me so much of what I used to be. I don't want to be that person anymore. But they told me that I'll always be evil, and always strive for chaos. I couldn't escape the voices. I tried, but I couldn't."

His voice faltered as he got to the next part, "And then you were there. You joined them in taunting me. You said you'd never liked me at all, and that I was a self-loving jerk. I wanted to disappear into the ground right there and then. I felt my heart breaking. I trust you so much, you know?" He shyly met your eyes, looking at you with so much affection.

Your eyes glimmered softly as you took his face into your hands, staring into his eyes.

"You're worth so much, Carlos. Don't listen to the dream voices, their opinion doesn't matter. They're a literal personification of your worst fears, they're not real. Their opinion does not matter. I love you so much, and those things that dream me said about you will never be true."

You pressed a soft kiss against his lips, smiling slightly as he leaned into it. Pulling away, you snuggled back into him, feeling extremely comfortable. You could felt his soft, calm, breathing and knew that he was alright. He was a tough cookie, and you loved him.

"I love you too, forever. You're the best." He snuck a final lingering kiss before he laid his head back, smiling. He shut his eyes, feeling content. He had you, and he was safe. That's all he could've really asked for.

As he fell back asleep, he dreamed again. Not of tormenting voices or endless chases, but of spending time with you. He had an arm wrapped tightly around you, and a large smile adorned on his face. He was okay. No, he was more than okay. He was great. Amazing. In love.
