Darkness was all she saw; a white noise incessantly ringing throughout the seemingly endless void which was her unconscious mind.

She opened her eyes, to be met with the sight of Fairy Godmother peering over her still body.

"Oh, goodness child!" She cried out of relief, scurrying out of the room imminently." A confused expression spread across (Y/N)'s face, what had happened? Why was she lying down? Why was she with Fairy Godmother?

The door was to be opened again as Ben quickly hurried in the room followed by Fairy Godmother closing the door. His appearance took her by surprise; he had looked the complete opposite of what one might think of when they think of the Prince of Auradon, (soon to be king.)

"Ben, are you okay? You look tired." She questioned, raising an eyebrow at him. His face broke out in a relieved smile and he ran over to her, taking her into a hug.

"Careful dear, you might hurt her." Fairy Godmother reprimanded half-heartedly, as she was happy to see Ben back to normal.

"Hi, Ben." She said after that had pulled back from the hug. Sitting straight up, she gave Ben a massive grin, to which he returned.

"I'm so glad you're okay. I was so worried that she had pulled a nasty spell on you that you maybe wouldn't have woken up." Ben smiled sheepishly, avoiding eye contact. He took a deep breath, and without thinking, blurted something out.

"Willyoumaybegoonadatewithme?" His eyes widened, not believing he had just said that. By the look on her face, he instantly regretted it. "I mean- you don't have to I just wanted to see if you wanted to but if you don't want to that's okay and-"

"Ben?" She interrupted, sending a smile his way, "I'd love to go on a date with you. Their smiles grew wider as Ben once again trapped her in a hug, this time not seeming to let go anytime.

Many years later...

"Do you remember when Mal cursed me in your room and you got so worried? That was funny," she giggled, leaning back into his chest. They were currently on their 25th date ever, which Ben begged to spend all of his money on it, but (Y/N) refused, insisting that she just wanted the two of them hanging out casually.

"That was not funny! I was genuinely worried!" Ben exclaimed, burying his head into her neck, causing her to laugh.

"You're too caring, Ben." She tilted his chin up, smiling at him. "But that's just another fantastic quality to add onto the list." He shook his head, shyly giggled and turned her around, pressing his lips onto hers.

"Did I mention, that I'm in love with you?" He pulled away, smirking, knowing she was annoyed by that song anytime it was brought up. As predicted, she groaned and pushed him away, silently laughing at the same time.

"That was the most annoying thing ever." She reminisced on the memory which had been utterly traumatizing.

"Aww, was someone jealous?" Ben cooed, coming again closer to her.

"Tsk, no. I didn't even like you in that way at the time. I was just utterly embarrassed to be living in a place where a bumbling buffoon singing ridiculous love proclamations in front of the whole school would be ruling over us." She retorted mercilessly. Ben simply just rolled his eyes, brushing over the fact that she had called him a buffoon, as his mind was somewhere else.

"So, when did you start liking me?" he questioned, intrigued to know how long his feelings had gone unreciprocated.

"Right after your disastrous Coronation. I don't think it even was for any specific reason, I just grew fond of you, and now we're here." She shrugged, telling the honest truth.

"Aw, that wasn't as romantic as I thought it'd be." Ben pouted. He had been hoping that she fell for him in a more grand way, but was still content with the fact that she liked him back in the first place.

"Oh, Ben," She smirked, causing Ben to snicker a little already, "It was just the perfect moment. I was looking into your gorgeous eyes, your gorgeous laugh, and then it was if time stopped. Your gorgeous personality caused me to fall in love with your gorgeous self right then and there!" (Y/N) and Ben were nearly in tears by the end of her dramatic speech.

It took them awhile, but they eventually calmed down, reducing their laughter to mere giggles. "I'm so in love with you, (Y/N)" Ben started, his nerves starting to rack up immensely. He got up from beside her, kneeling down on one knee, "W-which is why I w-was wondering if you'd maybe like to marry me?"

Ben mentally cursed himself into the Isle, that was the weakest proposal he had ever heard! He knew that he was supposed to do a grand gesture but instead he had done a stuttering, unsure, proposal. His adrenaline gave him a confidence boost, causing him to swoop in before (Y/N) could get a chance to reply.

"I'm sorry, that was the weakest proposal I could ever dream of." He retracted the velvety box, bowing his head. "Let me rephrase. (Y/N), we've been best friends for years now, and for a vast majority of those, I've been falling deeper, and deeper for you. I never thought I'd be dating you, let alone proposing to you, but somehow, you liked me back. That day when Mal caused you to pass out in my room, I was devastated, more than you could imagine. I had thought I'd never get to feel what it feels like to have you kissing me, to hold you close. However, now that I think back on it, I'm glad it happened."

(Y/N) tilted her head in confusion, how could he be glad it happened if he had just stated he had been devastated?

"I had only gotten the courage to ask you on a date because of the event. I didn't want a repeat of you getting harmed and me regretting not asking you out." Ben continued. "From there on, I felt so blessed to have you by my side, to have you actually like me. I had thought that was something which could only occur in my dreams. There was still one thing, though. I always thought that us getting married was something also reserved for my dreams even though we were dating. I always had the lingering thought that you would grow bored of me, hate me, or find someone better than me, and leave me, but you didn't. So I'm here now to hopefully prove myself wrong."

He had outstretched the box containing a magnificent, expensive-looking ring to her. (Y/F/N), please do me the honours of being my wife."

Tears had streamed down her face freely through the entire speech. Never in her life had she thought she'd get so lucky in the love department.

"Yes, Ben. Yes!" she answered, relieving Ben's stress. He quickly slipped the ring onto her finger, continuing to trap her in a suffocating hug. They pulled back only moments later to kiss each other with all of their soul.

That truly, was a moment which would stick with them for the rest of eternity.
